The staff member made assumptions about how a service dog should look/behave and only backed down after seeing ID. Service dogs vary by task; questioning/pressuring handlers is inappropriate and can implicate federal ADA requirements. Although the tone improved later, the damage was done—I would have left if my stay wasn’t prepaid. I also requested a room away from other pets (ignored), had very low water pressure, wet/soaking carpet by the toilet/shower, and significant noise from upstairs (poor insulation)

Although the hotel has a sense of history, my overall experience has been excellent since checking in. This is clearly the result of the entire team working together. Maintaining such a high level of detail consistently is not easy at all. I’m also a chain brand owner myself, so I truly understand how challenging this can be. Thank you all very much—my respect to your team 🫡 That said, I do have one question. I’d like to leave a tip for Kelly, but when I scan the code, I don’t see Kelly listed. Could you please let me know why that might be?
- EEEmmaDec 6, 20255.0This hotel has exceeded my expectations from the minute I pulled into the parking lot. My first impression was that the property was very well lit and well maintained. We arrived after dark and as two women traveling alone we felt very safe. When I walked into the front office to check in, I was immediately greeted by Bryon (or Byron, I can’t remember his name exactly but it was a Navajo gentleman and his name started with a “B”), who genuinely made me feel welcomed to the hotel instead of like another check in he had to get through. He was so kind and helpful during the check in process. He offered me free waters and told me about all of the hotel’s amenities. After check in, we were pleasantly surprised after walking into our room to see how nice and clean the room was. You can tell that the folks working here take a lot of pride in what they do. The room was comfortable and quiet and was equipped with blackout curtains that kept the room extremely dark. We had every amenity we needed and appreciated getting a good night’s rest. This is also one of the only pet friendly options in the area and is priced extremely reasonably, especially for the quality. If I ever pass through Holbrook again, I will absolutely be staying here, no questions asked. Thanks for the great stay!
