- MFMichael FrostAug 5, 20254.0I'll begin by saying Amy was a delight at the front desk for our check-in. Friendly & sweet as could be, Amy gets 10⭐️'s! A group of us spent a day at Apache Lake on 8/2/25 then stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for the evening. We had 4 rooms & found the hotel to be in surprisingly good condition & the rooms clean with very comfortable beds. I always check for signs of bed bugs & found none, but one of the group had bites that may have happened at the lake, so I'll give it a👍for no bed bugs. The only real detractor & a VERY DANGEROUS ONE is the bathtub/shower. It is super slippery when showering & has no rubber mat or anything to prevent a person from falling & injuring themselves, possibly seriously. After almost falling twice, I grabbed a towel & put it in the tub so I wouldn't kill myself. It worked, but is a lousy fix. The other 3 in our party all said the same thing that they slipped & almost fell, so it wasn't just me or my room. When we checked out I told the front desk clerk (not Amy) how dangerous this was & she said "oh, we have a few rubber mats back here, would you like one?", to which I replied "no, I'm reporting a dangerous situation that will at some point result in a severe injury or death & a lawsuit for millions. I truly hope someone from Holiday Inn "corporate" reads these reviews & gets this location owner/operator to fix this & soon.
