During a visit to the Phoenix, Arizona area last month, my friend Tony and I stayed at Home2 Suites by Hilton Avondale, and from the moment we walked into our suite, I knew this stay was something special.
The first impression was immediate and lasting: spacious, cozy, and genuinely welcoming. There’s something rare about a hotel room that feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional, and this suite absolutely delivered. The layout gave us room to breathe, unpack, and relax without ever feeling cramped or cluttered. Whether you’re staying for a night or settling in for an extended visit, the space feels intentionally built for comfort.
One of the biggest highlights was the kitchenette. This wasn’t a token mini-fridge-and-microwave situation—it was a fully useful setup. The suite included a sink, microwave, full refrigerator, and even a dishwasher. That alone makes this place ideal for travelers who like having the option to prepare meals, store leftovers, or simply keep drinks and snacks handy. It added a sense of independence and ease that you don’t always get with hotel stays, especially if you’re on the road for more than a couple of days.
Although it was December and we didn’t get a chance to take advantage of the pool, it’s worth mentioning because it looked genuinely inviting. Even just passing by, you could tell it was well-maintained and thoughtfully designed—definitely something I’d look forward to using on a warmer visit. It’s nice to know that the option is there, especially in a place like Arizona where pool time can be a major perk most of the year.
The staff deserves special recognition. Every interaction we had—from check-in to casual questions—was met with friendliness, professionalism, and genuine knowledge of the area. There was no forced hospitality here; it felt authentic. When staff members actually seem happy to help, it makes a huge difference in how comfortable and welcome you feel during your stay, and this team absolutely nailed that.
And then there’s the breakfast. Calling it “free breakfast” almost undersells what’s offered. The spread was outstanding, with a variety that easily accommodates different tastes and dietary needs. There were toast and bagels, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, and sausage, plus vegan options—which is always appreciated and not nearly as common as it should be. Add in coffee, tea, juices, and milk, and you’ve got a breakfast setup that feels generous, not minimal. It’s the kind of morning start that sets a positive tone for the rest of the day, whether you’re heading out for work, sightseeing, or a long drive.
Overall, this stay exceeded expectations in every meaningful way. Comfort, space, cleanliness, thoughtful amenities, friendly staff, and an excellent breakfast all came together to create a genuinely enjoyable experience. Home2 Suites by Hilton Avondale is absolutely deserving of five stars, and it’s a place I would gladly stay at again—and confidently recommend to anyone traveling through the Phoenix area.
If you’re looking for a hotel that feels less like a stopover and more like a temporary home, this one delivers. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
