I stayed on the Avid side and it was fantastic! The location is great, the service is excellent and the entire place is spotless!
The hotel was clean. Location great. If you have sensitivity to smells, this is not the hotel for you. The rooms smell overwhelmingly like Fabuloso cleaning product. I had to keep reapplying vicks to my nose so I wouldn't end up with a migraine. All of the room we had were the same so I know it wasn't just mine. If you're not sensitive to smells its a nice hotel, friendly staff.

Horrible Experience – Bugs Everywhere and No Real Resolution! I am beyond disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I booked two rooms for two nights (a total of four nights for my team), and the room we were placed in was full of bugs , both dead and alive. I took photos and videos and even showed the owner directly. I had to clean up piles of dead bugs myself using Clorox wipes, and I even handed him the wipes so he could see how bad it was.
When I brought it to his attention, he admitted this was an issue they’ve been having and said he thought it had been resolved. He apologized and said he would come clean it, but I had already cleaned up most of it myself just to be able to move around the room.
I asked to be moved to another room, and he told me there were no rooms available that night. When I asked if we could move the next day, he said yes, but refused to issue a refund for the night we had to stay in those conditions. The only thing he offered me was 500 IHG points, which is honestly insulting considering I spent around $800 on these rooms.
The entire night I couldn’t sleep — I kept itching, uncomfortable, and just grossed out. To make things worse, there was a big convention in Memphis that weekend, so there were no other hotel options nearby. We had already driven nearly 40 minutes out of our way to stay here, and we were stuck.
As a business owner myself, I understand that things happen — but when you know an issue exists and still place paying guests in those rooms, that’s unacceptable. The right thing would have been to refund me or at least make a sincere effort to fix the situation.
I’ve attached photos and videos for proof. This was not a small issue — it was a full infestation. I truly hope management takes this seriously and addresses it for future guests.

This is my personal experience and hope this helps you make a decision when booking hotels.
1. This is a SAFE location and right next to a highway. Some hotels in Memphis are not safe so be careful about the drug dealers and homeless trying to carjack, but this hotel, again, is VERY SAFE and is next to a Cracker Barrel and LaQuinta. The parking lot is CLEAN and has cameras and lots of LIGHTS AT NIGHT. The street is clean and well taken care of.
2. The rooms are clean, are just like the photos, and smelt great! It is worth the price! The lobby is CLEAN!
To save you time and research: 9 minutes from the convention center. 22 minutes from Memphis Airport. (Yes you get to cross over the beautiful Arkansas Bridge to get into Memphis).
3. Breakfast!!!!! THE BEST! Here is what they had for us:
Breakfast Buffet: Eggs, Bacon(Not burnt, but not soft, like in- between but very delicious), Seasoned roasted Potatoes, Bagels, Muffins, Greek Yogurts, Whole oranges, Bananas, Cold Cereal and much more!
OATMEAL BAR: They had a whole oatmeal bar with toppings such as brown sugar, dried cranberries, and walnuts!! (It is sanitary and were in containers with lids)
Drinks: Apple juice, Orange juice and a full COFFEE BAR with liquid creams, sugars and all the fixins!
There is also a mini store you can PURCHASE sodas and snacks, etc.(1 soda will cost you $3, I got a Dr. Pepper bottle)
4. THE STAFF! There is a gentleman who i think is the manager but he greets everyone!! And will go out of his way to accommodate you. I saw him speak to almost everyone at breakfast and seeing if people needed anything. Just a down to earth good guy. The whole staff was friendly tho. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
5. If you made it this far in my review, you must really be thinking about booking this place! This is your sign. BOOK HERE AND STOP STRESSING!

Im a traveling healthcare worker and I travel alot to all states. Five months ago I stayed here and it was fantastic!.. 5 stars hands down! Unfortunately I cannot say the same this trip. I would say it dropped to a 3. Im truly amazed it only took 5 months for this hotel to go down hill. Had to swap rooms 3 times which is very unusual. First room, it was evident that it was not clean thoroughly. Coffee grounds all on the kitchen counter and an awful smell in the room. Bathroom, oh my gosh... something was floating in the commode and the shower was all stained up with something. I Notice in each room that I had changed to, I dont know if this is a new thing now but there isnt any bars of soap. They only have the pump bottles of soap and lotion locked down to the wall which is fine but it was visually obvious they have been used and not switched out or cleaned off at least, so that tells me it definitely wasnt checked or replenished for the sink or the shower for the next person staying in the rooms. Also, all three rooms there were no dish rags, dish towels or dish soap for the kitchen area. Candlewood usually provides them and it was the last stay....all the Candlewood Suites Ive stayed at have. The second room, also uninviting smell in the room and the light over the shower was flickering off and on so much, if one were susceptible of having seizures it would definitely trigger one. The Third room was better. Stains in the shower but nothing floating in the commode or constant flickering lights. On a positive note, Air conditioner works but bring some air freshner just in case you get a room that has a wierd smell. The floors looked clean and utilizing a black light the sheets were clean as well. I know that sounds excessive but Trust me being in the medical field and traveling I have seen some nasty stuff... Also, the front dest person, Nate was so kind and very accommodating and patient. Which I so appreciated after being on the road for 9 hours and fighting the rain majority of the trip.
