    I was in town for a baseball tournament with my son, 3hrs from home. My wife booked the hotel using her card but ended up not able to go. I took her card with us since it was the one on file for booking. We get there and the 2 girls at the front desk was extremely rude and would not accept our form of payment. Told me “good luck finding somewhere else”. Later that evening, my wife’s card was charged $165 fo a no call no show fee. Corporate refunded the money back to my wife and informed her that it’s up to the discretion of staff on duty whether they accept a card that doesn’t match the ID at check in but exceptions are always made for married couples. The front desk attendants were extremely rude and unprofessional and created a huge inconvenience for me and my 2 sons that was unnecessary. Have not had the same experience at other locations except this one and will not be returning because of it

    I stay in Hampton Inns about 4 days a week, all over the South. So far, this is the nicest property I've stayed at.

    I have always loved staying this hotel. I can’t say that I like all the updates. I don’t like how they removed the carpet in the rooms. I like to walk around barefoot and sad I wasn’t able to do so. Also there are not table stands in the rooms so when you are watching tv you have no place to put your water or drink but on the floor. Removing the carpet just doesn’t feel cozy. It’s like when the carpet left the room the cozyness left. The lady at the front desk wasn’t as welcoming. I kept having to make small talk and it should be the other way around. I think in customer service one way to show you are engaged in the conversation is to make eye contact occasionally she looked down the whole time, also welcome to Hampton Inn would have been nice. I did like the rooms were super clean, that is always a plus. I didn’t get a welcome bag with at least water which I didn’t like. It’s small things that matter. You can tell when a business is trying to cut corners and save money but being cheap actually costs more. I didn’t want to remove all the stars because it is a good hotel. But please bring back the coziness, put some end tables or something in the room for folks to place their drink and watch tv.
