My husband and I had a terrible experience at this hotel. When we checked in, we were given a room that was already occupied, which was both embarrassing and unacceptable. We had also specifically booked a room with a kind bed, but did not receive the room type we reserved. They told us that there was none available. Turns out that they just made a mistake and the us room 142 instead of our correct room 141…To make matters worse, when we tried to return to the front desk multiple times to resolve these issues, the front desk employee was nowhere to be found. We were left waiting without assistance and unable to get our concerns addressed in a timely manner. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was the inappropriate comment made by the man who checked us in. After seeing my husband’s Mississippi ID, he remarked that Mississippi was the last state to abolish slavery. This comment was unnecessary, unprofessional, and completely out of line. Overall, this stay was poorly managed, uncomfortable, and disappointing. Between being assigned an occupied room, not receiving the room we booked, lack of staff availability, and inappropriate remarks from staff, we would not recommend staying here.

Poor excuse for a hotel. Tried 3 rooms and all smelled horrible, hotel is run down and not in a good location. Staff was not helpful.

Very dated, but the room was clean. Beds are very stiff. Staff all helpful and friendly. Needs a lot of updates in hallways and stairwells.

I personally wouldn't stay here again, heater didnt work, my bathroom door was out of alignment and wouldn't shut and the whole place feels extremely humid and musty.

I rarely leave negative reviews for any business, but as a Platinum Elite member who stayed at this hotel for five days, I feel my experience needs to be shared. I was moved between two different rooms because each one was missing basic essentials—hangers, towels, trash cans, and even a desk lamp needed to work.
Throughout these room changes, I also dealt with repeated issues with my key card. For three nights in a row, I had to go to the front desk to have it reactivated before the issue was finally resolved.
After checking out before noon and driving 2.5 hours away, I realized I had accidentally left an item in the room. I called the hotel around 5 PM and was abruptly told to call back the next morning because they “couldn’t check right now.”
When I called the next morning, I was told housekeeping hadn’t found anything, and the front desk agent rudely informed me that it was my fault for leaving the item behind. While I fully acknowledge I should have double‑checked before leaving, the lack of professionalism—especially after I proactively called the evening before to ask if someone could check before the room was reassigned—was unacceptable. The individual refused to give his name but spoke with an Indian accent and typically works the evening and overnight shifts.
This property has so much potential, but it desperately needs new ownership and staff who understand how to communicate respectfully with guests who choose to spend their money here. Unfortunately, If the current ownership and staff remains, they would need some remedial training in hospitality and management. I would not stay at or recommend this property to anyone until significant changes are made.
