Easily the worst Best Western I've ever seen. It's a motel. The pool is closed. Sketchy party of town. Room is easy too smelly from cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, the room is prepaid, otherwise I'd be gone ASAP

Alisa, Glynda and Sarah were excellent servers, meal preparation and kindnesses! They went out out of their way to help me. Louise

Best Western – Road Trip Practicality Over Fancy Arrived 4/19-4/21 2026 We do a lot of long road trips, this one being a full six weeks, so priorities shift. At this point, I’ll take a place where I can park right outside my door over a fancy, overpriced hotel any day. Convenience wins when you’re living out of a suitcase. This location checked that box well. Easy access, practical, and overall a solid stop for the night. That said… breakfast. I’ve noticed over time that Best Western’s breakfast quality has slipped a bit, and this location didn’t help change that impression. What really threw me off was that it wasn’t self-serve. Instead, you’re standing there while someone portions your food. Not ideal when all you want is a quick, easy start to the day. A little “wait, what?” moment. The tougher part was the service during breakfast. Both mornings, the servers felt cold and uninviting. No warmth, no friendliness, and definitely none of that Southern charm you kind of hope for when you’re traveling through the region. Overall, it did the job, and I’d still choose this kind of setup for road trips. But a better breakfast experience, both in quality and attitude, would make a big difference.

My husband and I went to Hot Springs/Oaklawn for a rekindle-the-romance weekend getaway. He made all the bookings. When I saw that we were in a Best Western- instead of some sort of romantic/spa resort type place, I was just a slight bit crestfallen thinking he maybe hadn’t really put a lot of thought into this weekend. But- when we got into the room, I had to admit that it was very clean and well taken care of… But what really knocked my socks off were the ladies that worked the free continental breakfast bar!!! They served us the food themselves with smiles and friendly, familiar banter (with each other and us…) and served us at our tables, bringing us waffles that were made to order and clearing our table as though we were dining out at a restaurant. One sweet lady,, Alisa, I believe, proudly shared that this is her 13th year with this Best Western and that she loves working there. Glynda and Sarah were equally friendly with easy, natural smiles and GREAT quality breakfast- and I am somewhat critical person, I hate to admit. lol I just like things the way I like them- and they ( and that breakfast- both mornings) were simply above average. As we walked back to our room, my husband and I mused about how relationship and caring show in the quality of the food and the service and how very rare a place and people like this are these days. ALSO! This hotel is just steps about 30 steps away from Oaklawn!! So much fun! Restaurant recommendations- for excellent German food and beer selections, Steinhaus Keller in old town AND Lost Creek Grill for fantastic wagyu steaks, seafood, and warm, local people/atmosphere! My hubby did great- this weekend delivered- and Best Western’s staff ( front of house was so friendly and accommodating, too!!) and clean, updated environment set a comfortable, hospitable stage for it ALL!! Come here and go see the horses and rich, living history!
