We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Blytheville twice as our halfway point on a long drive. We specifically booked the suite with the parlor room both times so that we could get better sleep with our kids in a separate space from us.
The first stay went well. We made the reservation online and called to request two cribs for our young kids. When we arrived, the two cribs were in our room with sheets. The room was mostly clean, but the floors could’ve used some more attention. (There were some clumps of hair and sticky spots. My baby’s onesie looked a little dirty after crawling around.) The hotel does seem a little older since the rooms are not all exactly the same (different thermostats and slightly different layouts for the same room type). The furniture in the room made it easy to store luggage off of the floor (some shelves and hooks on the wall for hanging bags). The mattresses were a nice level of softness. It was reasonably quiet. Checking out was quick and easy. The staff at the front desk were helpful. Bonus points for having Dove liquid hand soap instead of the weird, sticky bar soap most hotels have. Overall, a very good experience.
When we arrived for the second stay, we noticed people arriving in formal wear for an event at the hotel. We checked in and went to our room. It was not the parlor room suite like we had wanted. It was a different room. My husband went to the front desk to ask about it. The manager told him with a broad waving gesture that they moved our room to get us away from the noise of the quinceañera happening in the ballroom that evening. Since we hardly heard any noise from the ballroom at that time, we said we were okay with the originally requested room. When we moved rooms, we were surprised that the room was not only closer to the event, but it actually shared a wall with the ballroom. We could open the curtain to our window and look straight into the ballroom (see pictures). When the party really got started closer to 7 PM, the noise was unbearable and we moved back to the first room they had put us in with a discount since it wasn’t what we had originally paid for. What frustrated us most about all this was the unclear communication. They changed our room without saying anything and then didn’t communicate the full extent of the reason they moved us. In the future, communicating the problem explicitly, “Your room is directly adjacent to the event. It shares a wall with the ballroom,” and offering us an option to switch rooms (at a discount) would be better. I would also recommend blocking out the rooms adjacent to the ballroom on the nights that people book events. I don’t see how it’s fair to even offer those rooms with an event going on. Ultimately, our problem was resolved, but it took a lot of back and forth before we got there. If we stay here again, I will request a room not adjacent to the ballroom! I think that management did what they could to help us under the circumstances, but the layout of the hotel being what it is (rooms right next to an event space) made it difficult for everyone. My four star review is based on the positives of the first stay and in spite of the negatives on the second stay. I think this hotel is a great stop, as long as you’re not next to an event in the ballroom.

We stayed here during a long road trip and had a great experience. We showed up close to midnight without a reservation and Jeff at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. The hotel was clean and beautifully renovated. The breakfast the next morning at Perkins was delicious. It was definitely the best hotel experience we had on our trip!

Great size rooms! Large enough to even just spread out.
We have stopped here a few times on a cross country trip the hotel is nice. It’s large (can get lost) but great to have multiple food options. And pet friendly! (Dog approved!)
