    My stay here was very pleasant. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share how wonderful my experience was—especially because of Sharron at the front desk. Every time she saw me, she greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine hello and a real convo!! She truly cares about her job and about people, and it shows. We need more people like her in this world. Holiday inn is lucky to have someone like Sharron representing them!

    Stopped late in the evening without a reservation. Pam at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Their breakfast was a full hot breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

    I'm giving all 5s because we had a wonderful stay including the most comfortable hotel beds we've experienced in 10 years. The desk attendants were all very friendly, professional, and highly efficient. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had all of the basic necessities expected. We did have one issue and it was an employee. We made it to breakfast 15min before it ended, so we rushed to get our plates and drinks and sat down to eat quickly. There was already a kitchen attendant/housekeeper sweeping in the dining area who continued to sweep the entire area a few more times, then began sweeping closer to us in circles, watching our every move. She began bumping her broom into the chairs, cabinets, and trash can making a good deal of noise the whole time we were eating our food. Our 8yr old was with us and asked why she was mad at us. My husband returned to the food service area to get one more item as everything was still available, and she proceeded to follow him, stand behind him with her arms crossed and tapping her foot, letting out a loud puffy breath and shaking her head at his back. Not once did she ask if we were finished or if we would like anything else before she closed the doors to the service area. Her actions made us feel like we were doing something wrong and uncomfortable. Everyone else was so kind, but even one sour grape can spoil the stay. Thanks to the desk attendant who checked us out for being so upbeat and erasing the negativity from the kitchen attendant. My husband is a chief engineer at another IHG hotel. This interaction was disappointing for the IHG brand. We would stay here again regardless.

    I travel frequently for work and recently stayed here after being stuck in Washington, DC for three days due to Winter Storm Fern. While on the road, access to laundry is extremely important to me. Unfortunately, while in DC, I had no way to do laundry, the hotel did not offer services, I had no coins, no detergent, and no way to exchange money. Upon checking in here, I was met with such kindness from Pam. When I asked if the hotel had laundry units and detergent available, she immediately said yes and kindly guided me on where to get cash so I could exchange it for coins she had available. It was late, and I had a long and exhausting day, she may have as well, but despite that, she showed genuine care and kindness. She made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. After days of stress being in DC, arriving at this IHG in Birmingham and being treated so well was truly a breath of fresh air. Being able to finally do my laundry and feel taken care of allowed me to relax and breathe again. Thank you so much, Pam!

    We had a wonderful stay here, thanks to Orlandria at the front desk! We accidentally booked a handicap room through a 3rd party. When we discovered our mistake during check-in, Orlandria began taking steps to see if she could do something to help. Jennifer walked up to the desk however, and took over our check in process. She refused to make any attempt to provide us with an alternate room of any kind, not even a handicap room on something above the first floor. Jennifer said it was impossible to make a change because of the 3rd party booking, and that was the only handicap room available. I have traveled extensively, am an IHG member, and am also being asked by IGH to become a Club member. We knew Jennifer was wrong, but we acquiesced. It was our mistake after all. When we entered the room, there was a smell of water in the air, perhaps from flooding in the bathroom or a broken AC/Heat system. The AC/heat would not turn on. The room was very cold. We returned to the front desk to complain. We approached Orlandria, who contacted someone who appeared to be a manager, and Orlandria moved us to a non-handicap room on a higher floor. While I had the impression that Jennifer knew there was a problem with the room in which she originally placed us, Orlandria was very friendly in all of our encounters. The bed in our new room was very cushy and the heat worked well. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was plentiful. Though a busy road is on the front of the hotel, a large parking lot is behind the hotel. We did not hear any road noise in our room on the back side. Thank you Orlandria!
