We had a very nice stay. Clean, friendly people, pool was NOT heated. Should have been for Spring Break. Breakfast was excellent, however, they were slow getting it out. All in all it was an Excellent stay!
I was very disappointed in this location. We have stayed at many IHG hotels, and
this by far was probably the worst. It is completely outdated and does not look anything like it does on these photos. The pool and hot tub area we're really just gross. We are diamond, elite or platinum, and they literally gave us a room facing someone else's parking lot. When I asked about it, I was told there were no more rooms waterside. Yet, we met a couple out near the pool who said they had just checked in, three or four hours after us, and they were given a waterfront room for an upgrade for free.
They wanted to charge my husband a hundred dollars for the upgrade online.
The entire hotel needs to be rehabbed. The walls are so thin in this place that you can hear everyone in the entire hallway in their own rooms. Somehow we got placed near the elevator, which I'll be sure to never do again, because it really sounded like they were literally standing in our room. Every time the elevator ran we could hear it and everybody getting in or out of it. So needless to say, we didn't get much sleep. As soon as we finally started to fall asleep, it sounded like someone was weed whacking outside of our room window. Come to find out it was the cleaner, and her outdated vacuum, that sounded just like a weed whacker.. She was down the hall cleaning another room..
The toilets barely flush and you have to hold down the lever forever. Well, unfortunately, our toilet overflowed.
We called for a plunger and they brought it to us in a dirty bag with a rusty razor at the bottom.
I can assure you we won't stay here again.

The location i cant complain about but it was the rooms that me and my faimly stayed in and the service when we got there The second we got to the hotel there was already problems they have 1 elevator that anyone knows about that is shared with every guest that walks in so waiting for the elevator is terrible. Once we got to our rooms our key cards didnt work and the hotel told us that they "forgot" to check us in even after the second we got there we walked in and got our room set up. How that happens is crazy and unprofessional. Once we finally got that to work we couldnt move the trolly into the room due to how narrow the designing is and ended up dropping a lot of bags and hitting the walls. We got unpacked and figured out that the hangers that are supposed to hold our things in the room like jackets and small bags, was broken and fell right off with the slightest touch. Then comes the bathroom, around the toilet was so dirty and the toilet paper holders were coming out of the wall and could fall at any second, our shower drain was not working and when we took a shower the water filled up to our ankles before it even started to drain and it stayed like that the entire time you showerd. I know that this is not much but its stuff I expect a hotel to take care of before they have guest staying the night in their rooms. Overall the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

The breakfast was great and the only good part about our stay, but the room was noisy with constant grinding due to condo construction next door but not their fault, thank God the black out curtains helped that noise. We didn't have any scary or fight incidents. The problem lies in the money: I booked this room back at the end of July, early August 2025 because we had a wedding to attend at The Wharf, so I got the much cheaper member rate before the spring break dates for schools were released and before they started charging for parking per night, so I was to be exempt from that however they told me repeatedly during my stay it was refunded even until check out. It in fact was not, and I believe they never had any intentions of refunding me. I have proof where I called back on Monday the day after check out and finally a refund was initiated on March 23rd, only for my brother's card to be charged what I had ALREADY paid for Thursday night with the parking fee I might add that again I wasn't supposed to pay at all. Originally I needed to cancel Thursday night but if I would've done that I would've had to pay the current rate for two nights vs August rate so we just sucked it up and came on down late Thursday night but if these adjustments could be made than I would feel I should've got the rate I booked at if I dropped a night. The breakfast was good and it was an okay room (dated in need of upgrades), but this used to be one of my favorite places to stay at Orange Beach which is why I picked it, I like the easy access to the beach, walking places and feeling safe. Now my brother is stuck with almost $200 (charged 48 hours after check out date) when we left paid on full, pending out of his checking acct for another 3-10 business days and he has auto bills to pay and the first night has already posted to my account and I have had to dispute it with my bank and we have yet to see an email of further refunds and he still has the other over $406 pending on his acct for last two nights. I was supposed to be pay $542.19 for three nights that was it. Nothing more. There are so many working the front desk and they've all told me different things. I'll never stay here again and we are in our mid 40s down for a wedding, we weren't spring breakers trying to cause any trouble, but I feel like they gonna nickel and dime everyone at the beach because of spring break, everyone has to suffer. As an IHG member this has left a bad taste in my mouth. I uploaded the photo where the refund is finally showing the DAY AFTER we checked out, MARCH 23, but I was told repeatedly on March 20-22 it has already been refunded for the parking fees. Again, I honestly believe they had no intention of refunding me until I kept calling back. They thought I wouldn't care. $34.xx is a lot for someone on a fixed income. But I am not the person to pay something I don't owe. I hate yelling and it caused me too. Front desk manager: BE REAL, please, honestly if it was your money you'd be yelling too and don't lie and say that you wouldn't. You'd find a way to get that refund back to your bank in less than 3-10 business days. And don't reply to this review trying to defend yourself and the hotel. You know what you did wasn't right. I was lied to since the day after I checked in about that parking fees refund. See photo about when I called back Monday and it was finally initiated. Just watch your card(s) if you stay here. No telling what extra you might be charged especially during the spring break through Labor Day season. Please find another hotel at the beach if you care about your money. They also argued with me the next day saying I had bought stuff at their "store" and charged it. I had not. I was also hounded about getting the cheaper rate saying that I went through a third party and they were losing money (over the phone when I called to confirm reservation the week of) And why did I book the room so far in advance? I have a witness that. A. It was directly through IHG. B. That's none of your business.

We had an excellent experience at Holiday Inn Express Orange Beach this past week! The location is perfect and the pool, hot tub and access to the beautiful beach were the reasons that we chose this hotel. Everything was in good condition, beds were comfortable and breakfast was delicious and plentiful! We felt appreciated by the staff who were all friendly and professional. A shout out to Holly who checked us in on a busy afternoon who was very welcoming and professional. Also the staff at breakfast who kept things moving and were very helpful! Thank you for an excellent stay!
