Perfectly located downtown. Walking, or a quick, cheap, Lyft ride to ANY point downtown Mobile. Parking is free within the hotel lot, but spaces are limited. Hotel is very beautiful inside with an old school french Mardi Gras ambiance.
My staff for this stay was Mr. Marcus Gill and Ms. India Brown. These two made me feel special and very welcome. Marcus hooked this IHG reward member up with a nice late checkout.(12:30) Both also very knowledgeable about the area.
The room was great size, the king size bed was very comfortable, the view was good (it's Mobile Bay) lol. My only complaint in the room was the bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned in awhile.
I will definitely stay here anytime I'm in Mobile again for a concert!

The rooms are very old. The tub wouldn't drain at all. The AC was unplugged. The window was so dirty I couldn't see out of my "room with a river view."
The service was very friendly.
The parking is limited. But the location is very close to all of downtown.

Stacy at the front desk is amazing. She really made my stay exceptional. My experience with her was amazing from start to finish. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. I would definitely come back here just for her. She’s great at her job and it was a pleasure to meet her. Just be aware the rooms are a little dated, but they smelt nice and clean.

Biggest issue I had was that my hotel door does not shut unless I slam it shut. Announcing to every member of the neighboring rooms I'm indeed some half witted inconsiderate moron.
Sometimes it'll show closed but if I push my hand against the door hard enough I can get it to open...
They did send a maintenance individual and they muttered something incoherent and then left me with a door that doesn't close.
My key timed out 3 times on a 2 day stay.
Had minor issues with the wifi
The shower spits half the water out the faucet so there's just an acceptable level of water pressure.
Somehow being on the 7th floor still subjects ya to all the noise happening on the street.
I traveled on company dime. Placed a personal card for incidentals. There were instructions on the profile to charge the company card for the room and tax. I heard this disclosed to me. And I was responsible for any other purchases.
I checked out and was immediately billed on my personal card...
Now I get to wait 5 days to have access to that money. Which is an inconvenience at the least.
Update:
They fully billed me for incidental and room without a receipt. Expect a bad time at this hotel.

There's something to be said for weird. Which this was. But it was also long-in-the-tooth in a not great way. Feels ripe for redevelopment given the location. Our room was a hilarious and fun blast from the past with like 30 foot floor-to-ceiling windows in what used to be the rotating restaurant maybe?
The lobby-drop bathrooms were oddly labeled as "male" and "female", which felt like a purposeful, political choice by way of the position that there are only two genders. Have you ever noticed how totally creepy people who are obsessed with who uses which bathroom are?
Front-desk staff was rad and fun. Two thumbs-up and a toe for them.
