  First of all, I have a permanently set first-floor preference and made my reservation some time back. What is the point of being a member if you can't even get basic preferences met?! Im in a knee immobilizer brace from a fall, and In my first room, the TOP floor 418, upon entering, I was assaulted by the smell of mold when you walked in the room and noted the bedding felt damp. In a fire, I'd just burn as stairs take forever right now! Then I looked in the bathroom. The toilet had a little bit of poop and paper in it, and when I tried to flush it, it was stopped up. So obviously, it had not been cleaned, or someone would have noticed that it needed to have a plumber look at it. Then moved to 211 which had obviously been smoked in. At this point I give up but I would never stay at this location again! Shenanigans like this is the reason I've gotten to where I'm mostly doing Airbnb and bed and breakfasts. Had recently decided to try doing more booking with IHG again, but it doesn't seem like it's gotten any better, so I'm thinking it's time to move on

  If I could give a negative star I would. I emailed the property manager and never got an call nor email back from the property. Only asking about my stay and when I got ready to reply it wouldn't let me. Our room was freezing 50 degrees in our rooms and 23 degrees outside (heat broke) The bathroom lights blinking on and off. The coffee never stayed full and when you asked the front desk the guy couldn't respond because he was to busy on his phone with the earbuds(unprofessional). I have never spent $400 + dollars to wear a jacket in my hotel room both nights. Would u go back yes if property manager responded and they give me a differ room

  This was our first time staying here and the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. There was road work going on while we were in gulf shores and that made the traffic a little congested but otherwise our stay was great!!! The breahfast was great and they had a buffet style breakfast and a great variety of foods to choose from no matter what type of diet one eats! We would definitely stay here again!!!

  The hotel and staff is amazing. I wish I could give all five stars but unfortunately I have one major issue. When you walk in the room there is a musky smell mixed with repeated applications of Fabreeze. I have asthma and it literally takes your breath and causing sneezing and a runny nose. We even opened the windows despite the frigid temperatures. I suspect a good deep cleaning of the sofa would help minimize the smell but I suspect housecleaning will continue to use it. It would be helpful if they could find a better way to refresh the room. The breakfast was very good and the rooms were extremely clean.
