- JSJason SloanJan 3, 20262.0Having stayed at over 4,000 hotels during my career this is a disappointing hotel stay for a few reasons. Probably the biggest issue is they’ve set all the doors of the rooms to SLAM shut. YOU WILL BE WOKEN UP BY EVERY DOOR THAT SHUTS. 1. They use the white hospital LED lights in the rooms. Hotels should use the warm colored lights IMO. 2. The TV streaming didn’t work. 3. The phone in the room didn’t work to call them about the TV. 4. The USB chargers didn’t work to charge devices. 5. Went to front desk and did offer another room on another floor but it was late and we already unpacked. Instead she said we could have snacks. There’s a reason IHG falls behind Marriott and Hilton. Senior leadership is obviously poor and it trickles down.

Even the cleaning staff spoke and was friendly. Where do you get that service these days? Read the reviews… the owner replies. Hands down a must stay if you’re in the area.

- TKTed KrugelOct 21, 20255.0First time staying at this location but not my first stay at an Avid Hotel. Both Avid hotels I have stayed at have been wonderful and above expectations. Very clean, extremely friendly staff, and a good selection of breakfast options. The room very spacious and I really enjoy what feels like an upscale bathroom with the glass walk in shower. Avid will continue to be among my first choices when I am looking to travel somewhere.
- BMBrian MillicanSep 29, 20254.0This is our second time staying here. The location is great for visiting with friends and family in the Fort Payne and Sand Mountain areas. The hotel has a nice modern look to it, the staff is usually friendly, and the 24-hour coffee machines are really convenient. On the downside, the thermostats in the room do not have a “continuous fan” option. They have two options: cool and heat. If you set it on the coldest setting, it will shut off once it reached temperature. This leaves the room awfully quiet until it heats up enough to kick on again. The mattresses are a little firm as well. Overall, this is a nice place to stay. We hate the quiet rooms, but they’re not a deal breaker.
