  Our first impression of our room was a toilet bowl covered in black hair. We called down to the front desk and someone came up immediately and cleaned the bathroom. We also noticed leftover food on the appliance handles and kitchen floor, but we’re not big complainers so we cleaned that ourselves. Unfortunately the next morning when I went to use a clean bath towel, I was gifted the surprise of my “fresh” folded towel covered in more black hair. I brought it to the front desk, and requested new towels and I was told none were available because they were all in the wash, but I could come back a bit later if I wanted. My husband had to track down a service cart, which of course had clean towels, so that we could finish getting ready for the day. The staff were kind and apologetic, but not exactly very helpful. Definitely won’t be back next time we’re in Dothan.

  We chose to stay at Candlewood Suutes this time in Dothan, AL during a very difficult time dealing with a family death recently. We chose to stay at Candlewood Suites after a previous hotel chain during this very difficult time gave us a horrible experience for a 2 night stay while while dealing with coming to town to due to a death in our family. We swapped hotels after night 2, and so glad we did. I cannot express the sincerity of every staff member we came into contact with who made sure we were taken care of during this very difficult time at Candlewood Suites. We end up staying twice as long as originally planned due to unforseen circumstances and the staff made sure we were extended out far enough to ensure we had a place to lay our heads af night. It was a quiet stay, very clean room and we had everything we needed. We mostly stayed to sleep, shower and do laundry but it was by far hands sown the best stay during this very difficult time. We thank each and every one of the staff from front desk, sales, mgrs and housekeeping who made this very difficult time more bearable with their kindness and a comfortable stay and experience. We will definitely be staying here in the future when we return back to the area. Keep up the amazing work. You have no idea how much it meant to us to have such a caring staff lookimg out for us, especially after the start of our trip was so immensely difficult when we first arrived before we got to your property. You knocked it out of the park of what a long term hotel should be and we are so grateful to each one of you. Keep up the amazing work. 👏

  We checked in at this hotel after driving over 6 hours due to a family emergency. After checking in and sleeping a couple hours we were awakened by a dog barking in the next room. The walls are apparently so thin it sounded like the dog was in our room. After speaking with housekeeping they stated the dog wasn’t even registered to stay there. The dog barked off and in all day! No rest for us! Spoke with front desk about moving to another room but everything was booked. We requested a refund and front desk was to contact manager since of coarse no manager was in to speak with and her witness our delema, we were told unfortunately they could not refund us or accommodate us in anyway. So we would have to eat the money plus get no rest. The rooms are nice and roomy but will not ever stay here again management is horrible!!!!!!! Even a discount for the bags under our eyes we acquired from no sleep would have been nice!!!!!!

  Overall the hotel is nice. It is a in good location to shopping and restaurants. They also have a gym. I like that they have included washing services for extended stays. They don't have a pool or breakfast. Also, there were ants in our room on the first floor.
