The Lovely Hotel Indigo Birmingham-UAB

About

HotelWedding VenueConference CenterBusiness Meeting Locations
The Hotel Indigo Birmingham is located in a landmark Art Deco style building dating from the early 1930s in the city's historic Five Points South neighborhood. The hotel is situated in the booming and vibrant town of Birmingham near UAB. Hotel Indigo is set in the lively and roaring entertainment district of Birmingham, reminiscent of Bourbon street. Originally designed for medical offices and across from the first apothecary in Birmingham, the building became a hotel in the 1980s, but still retains its original medical insignia etched above the elevator doors. The hotel's design acknowledges the building's rich history, while incorporating modern amenities, like hardwood floors, spa inspired showers, luxury bath amenities and linens. We are also adding some exciting and tasty options to an area already known as one of the city's premier dining and entertainment districts. The Rx Lounge pays homage to the medical apothecary theme and provides prescriptions in the form of food and beverage.

The back of the hotel where the parking garage is HORRIBLE! It reeks of urine which is not necessarily the hotel’s fault, but still…The outside elevator was broken so I had to carry my luggage up the parking deck stairs which was covered in VOMIT 🤮! I had a guy approach me in the garage out of nowhere asking for money when I was by myself! They do offer Valet Parking. Several homeless people are in the area too so be on the lookout. The staff was pleasant and addressed my concerns! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I didn’t like how the bath room door was just a sliding door and crevices in the bathroom were dirty! The air conditioner has to be controlled by the front desk so you have to call or go back down and ask them to change the temp for you, that’s if your room phone works. The elevator was a little “iffy” too, it kept making buzzing noises and very tight. The beds were comfy and the aesthetics were nice. Location was convenient I will say that! Lots of good food is nearby walking distance.

Called them 3xabout the temp control,They responded we will get to it.Once I came downstairs n noticed all the playing around the 3 night employees were doing, they decided to give me another room. So unprofessional,my husband had surgery the next morning being on the road for hours we were exhausted. These people dont give a damm about the customers. This room was disgusting, coffee lids dont fit. Etc We will never return here. Thank the lady that checked us in that morning she was very professional.

Th woman who provided valet service was great. She helped with our luggage and car parking. However, DO NOT STAY HERE WITH A SERVICE DOG. They illegally charge for service animals.

I should have took my chances and stayed at BACKWOODS MOTEL 6 than to come here again. Absolutely horrendous room. The room was never cleaned clearly. Garbage was never emptied had some stale canned garbanzo beans or something in there. The sheets were never changed, I almost flipped my lid because it looked like bed bugs, but it was just someone’s nasty skin flakes at the bottom of the bed. Shower was never cleaned. Room just smelled and felt STALE. My husband and I slept fully clothed shoes on, on top of the comforter. The only reason we didn’t ask for another room or leave was because we were too exhausted and only were going to be in there for about 6 hours to leave early in the AM to continue our trip. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
