  During our check-in (Mar 14, 2026) upon arriving at the hotel there were no carts present downstairs. We had just driven from the Metro Atlanta area and was tired and hungry. The breakfast was good and the lady working in the dining area was very pleasant and provided great customer service. During check-in Divya was pleasant and explained all of the details of the hotel. Neel was pleasant and assisted me during check-out. I am a disabled Army Veteran, and there needs to be more handicap parking spots on the premises. I'd stay at this hotel again.

  Someone entered my room with a key with announcement at 10:00 at night. Staff apologized by scared me.

  am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Birmingham-Irondale. We paid nearly $400 for the weekend, and the room was unacceptable. There was visible dust, dead bugs, hair on the floor, rust and stains in the shower, and an overall unclean appearance. After messaging the hotel to request proper cleaning and fresh towels, I received no response. When I called, the employee (Deidra Patel) was defensive and hung up on me. When I went to the front desk, she avoided speaking with me and left the property. I was told no manager was available. I was also incorrectly notified that housekeeping had cleaned the room when it had not. Even after housekeeping came, the room still had visible stains. To make matters worse, there was a strong sewage smell in the hallway and our room on the last night. For the price paid, I expected a clean room and professional service. Instead, this stay was frustrating from start to finish. I hope management takes this seriously so future guests do not experience the same issues.

  Other than the rooms being clean and stain free for the most part, the front desk receptionist being amazing, everything else is sub par. Let’s start with breakfast. The cook will let food run out knowing that there is a huge work group staying on premises. What about the regular guests? This has happened multiple times. The protein selection for breakfast if there is some, will almost always be burnt and over cooked. Overall the breakfast selection could be better

  Been here before, was happy to be back, and expect to return in the future. I was here with an event, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, breakfast is definitely acceptable, and better than many, and both elevators work. Only problem we experienced was with the keycards, and the system was in the midst of being changed so i expect those problems have all been fixed by now.
