- MSMary SmithDec 30, 20255.0We stayed in the Holiday Inn Express for roughly a month while we had work done in our house earlier this year. It was a great hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean, the shower had great water pressure. Since we were staying so long (and weren’t expecting to stay as long as we did) they placed us on the top floor to minimize noise from any upstairs neighbors. Every staff member we interacted with was pleasant and helpful, but we had especially great experience with Tasha, Trenton, Kyle, Jessica and Sandra. We were disappointed to find that the pool was out of order because it was in disrepair. The location is excellent, it was so nice being right behind the shopping center and right next to the interstate. We didn’t make it down in time for breakfast often but when we did it was nice.

- SBSharon BurtDec 25, 20255.0The Holiday Inn Express in Alabaster, AL is the BEST! The hotel is clean and quiet. But the wonderful people you have working there are FANTASTIC!! Kyle, Trent, Brooke, Sandra, (and others I don’t know their names) are very professional, efficient, and especially kind and friendly! I stay often visiting family in the area and would not go anywhere else! They treat guests like family and always strive to make your stay comfortable!! I sure love seeing Kyle greet me with her smiling face and all things ready for my arrival!! I cannot tell you how grateful I am there are such friendly people making me feel at home!! I tell everyone I know, this is the place to stay if visiting the Birmingham area!
- T2Traveler 25Dec 7, 20251.0This was the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stepped into. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive from the beginning. The room I was assigned was filthy — stained carpets, rust on the metal door frame, chunks of wall missing in the bathroom, and hair all over the floor, trash piled in the hallway. It was so dirty that I requested to see another room before deciding whether to stay. The front desk clerk refused and told me I would “contaminate the room,” even though I asked her to escort me. This made no sense considering housekeeping walks in and out of rooms daily and the room I was shown was already dirty to begin with. They apparently called the general manager who also refused to allow me to view a second room. That tells me this location is not well run and doesn’t care about guest experience or cleanliness. I left and immediately went to another holiday inn (Pelham) down the street. They politely showed me two rooms, both clean, and I picked one. Customer service was amazing and had a pleasant stay there. We should not accept these conditions in American hotels. Customers deserve cleanliness and basic courtesy.
