We are currently staying at this hotel in Juneau and unfortunately the biggest issue here is the noise. The building is old and clearly needs renovation. The walls feel paper-thin — you can hear everything from neighboring rooms: snoring, TVs, conversations, bathroom noises. In our first room on the 4th floor, we couldn’t sleep because the guest next door was snoring extremely loudly. At 6 AM we woke up again when he turned on the TV — it sounded like it was inside our room. We went to the front desk to request a room change. At first, they said nothing could be done. After a long discussion with the manager (who unfortunately had difficulty understanding what we were asking for), we were finally moved. However, the second room was just as noisy — if not worse. It was on a lower level (room 230), facing the street, and we could clearly hear the neighbors talking and laughing late into the night. The radiators were also making loud knocking sounds all night. On top of that, an alarm clock in the room went off at 6 AM — which housekeeping should check and reset between guests. It felt like we were moved from one noisy room to another without the actual issue being addressed. We specifically asked for a quieter room away from neighbors, but that didn’t happen. Breakfast was a mixed experience. On the first day, I ordered avocado toast. The bread itself was excellent — artisan-style with olives — and the avocado was fresh. However, the cherry tomatoes were heavily sautéed in oil and placed on top, making the entire dish extremely greasy. The fried eggs and hash browns were also cooked in a lot of oil, and the hash browns were crispy outside but undercooked inside. The next day, I ordered the same plate but asked for fresh (not sautéed) tomatoes and boiled eggs instead. The kitchen adjusted the order perfectly, and that breakfast was actually very good — fresh, balanced, and much more enjoyable. So I do appreciate that the kitchen staff listened and corrected the issue. Overall, the kitchen was willing to improve. Unfortunately, the front desk did not resolve the main problem, which is the lack of soundproofing and overall comfort. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the right place for you.

The rooms are very old and the description of the hotel is misleading. Many of the things listed are simply not true. The only thing this place offers is a room to sleep in, nothing more. My room is extremely cold while the outside temperature is -10°C. I reported this to the staff, but the only solution they offered was an extra blanket. They did not change my room and did not provide a heater. This is unacceptable because a hotel room should at least provide basic comfort and proper heating, especially in such cold weather.

Rooms are old and small. It's a cramped fit but managable. Location is right in the heart of downtown. The main drawback is that the walls are extremely thin. Even with ear plugs you can hear everything from the next room. Oddly street noise is minimal. Usually stay elsewhere during my trips to Juneau, will not be returning here and am considering moving during this trip in order to get some rest. I value quiet and privacy.

Awful parking, has to park two blocks away. Tiny room. Restaurant closed for private event so had to go elsewhere for breakfast. Front desk staff was very rude when I asked about alternative parking, room upgrade, and when the restaurant might be available to other guests.

Hotel needed major refresh. Lobby restaurant was nice and quaint, but was under staffed. Fish sandwich portion was far smaller than the bun it was on. French fries were good. Front desk staff was nice and efficient.
