  I recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Chateau Inn Sylvan Lake, and it was a really solid experience overall. The location is definitely one of the biggest highlights—being so close to the waterfront in Sylvan Lake makes it easy to walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops without needing to drive. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The beds were especially cozy, and everything felt modern enough without being over-the-top. Housekeeping did a good job keeping things tidy during the stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, which made check-in and any questions throughout the stay easy and stress-free. It felt like they actually cared about guests having a good time rather than just going through the motions. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus—plenty of options like eggs, waffles, fruit, and coffee. It wasn’t fancy, but definitely better than average for a hotel breakfast. Amenities like the pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable, especially after a long day out by the lake. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Sylvan Lake. It’s a great mix of location, comfort, and value, and I’d stay here again.

  Our recent stay at the Best Western Plus in Sylvan Lake was a bit of a mixed experience. Starting with the highlights: the location is unbeatable. Being right across the street from the lake is incredibly convenient, and the free parking is a massive perk, especially since the city charges for parking in the surrounding area. ​The room itself was quite spacious and featured a comfortable, clean bed and a single love sofa, which added a nice touch of extra seating. However, the room felt a bit "split" in terms of quality. While the bathroom has been nicely renovated, the rest of the living space is showing its age. The carpets had several noticeable stains, and the layout is a bit dated for modern travelers. For instance, there are no power outlets at the work desk or by the bedside tables to charge devices, and while there is a ceiling lamp, there’s no dedicated desk lamp for working. ​On the amenities side, the breakfast is standard Best Western quality—it doesn't quite have that "homemade" selection you’d find at a Hampton Inn, but it’s a solid start to the day and includes a 24-hour juice machine. The "business center" was a bit of a head-scratcher, as it has a printer but no computer to use with it. Additionally, the hot tub was under maintenance during our visit, which seems to be a common occurrence lately. ​The Verdict: If you prioritize location, a good night's sleep, and free parking, this is a solid 3/5 choice. Just be prepared for a few "old school" tech limitations and some wear and tear on the carpets.

  This is a great hotel! Location is directly across from the lake. Rooms are ALWAYS clean and comfortable. Excellent new coffee shop located right inside building now called FREUD. If you need a hotel in Sylvan Lake, this is the place!

  Pros: location is close to the lake; room was clean and bed was comfortable, large smart TV and there is a microwave oven in the rooms. Cons (based on my preference): Coffee and hot water are available in the lobby but they aren't very hot. Coffee feels dilute. Hot water in the bathroom isn't really hot enough to us. FYI in case if you are curious: There is no coffee machine in the room. Breakfast area had two apples there as fruits. There is a waffle station and they give you syrup to go with it. Tea bags provided are the unwrapped ones. Not sure if the above is a weekday/winter/low season thing or if it's their standard amenities.

  The pool and hot tub are down for maintenance meaning they are cutting costs here. What’s the point of a hotel with 3 kids if the pool doesn’t work. That’s the whole reason we stay at hotels that advertise pools. Also you cannot check in until 4pm or you have to pay extra. Then there is a huge line at 4pm that took 40 mins to get through. None of the rooms have coffee makers. Another cost cutting measure. The staff just don’t care about any of these issues. Why would they, their management clearly doesn’t. They should deeply discount their rooms in the off season if they can’t even afford to operate the pool. The view and location are great if you get the right room. So if you come for that with no other expectations you’ll enjoy. I care way too much about my money and experience to ever spend it here again.
