The rooms are clean, well kept and pet friendly but the tipping point for me is the staff, especially Charmaine. She goes above and beyond every time I stay. Once, when it was past my typical check in time she called me to make sure everything was ok! The Holiday Inn Express is my hotel of choice whenever I visit Medicine Hat!

My grandson and great nephews needed pancakes and those breakfast workers said no. So very sad. The breakfast made me so sad because of the breakfast workers and the cutlery.

Unfortunately Expedia switched the dates when they confirmed the reservation for Dec. 14th. Contacting Expedia was useless and no one was willing to do a thing to help, with Holiday Inn saying I had to contact Expedia and Expedia saying I had to get Holiday Inn to switch it back. Even though it was 2 days before the incorrect stay, Expedia could not cancel the stay apparently and I spent almost $200 for a stay that never occurred. Holiday Inn came through when the GM came back on duty and forced Expedia to refund the stay. In the end, Holiday Inn stepped up when Expedia would do nothing and though I will try to never use Expedia again, I will plan to book directly with the hotel going forward because this hotel is terrific!

An air conditioning failure made venturing out of one's room, very unpleasant. Otherwise, the hotel offered everything that Holiday Inn today is known for - clean, spacious rooms that are well designed and functional, enormous modern washrooms that are well stocked, well attended breakfast areas with a huge variety of food offerings, and, professional and dedicated staff. Room 312 was welcoming and comfortable, especially after a 3,150 km drive.

Staff throughout were helpful and pleasant and went over and above to help me when I needed assistance with printing documents are required for work. The hot tub and pool facilities were spotless. The breakfast self-service was top-notch. They honoured our IHG points card and we’re able to provide a late checkout and a free room upgrade. This has been a most pleasant day during a work week in Medicine Hat.
