Really liked that it was close to West Edmonton Mall. Rooms were cleanly, beds were comfortable, breakfast was really good, hot tub and pool were clean and nice as well. Definitely would book again next time.

Comfortable. Underground parking requires better ventilation. Very wet and musty. Underground parking not good for those with allergy or respiratory problems.

I stayed at the West location. My family enjoyed the room, and everything was comfortable. Overall, everything was good.
At check-in, there was an issue with my room. The tall male front desk employee gave me a king bedroom, but I had booked a room with two queen beds. However, the female staff member working with him was very kind. She requested that I stay in the king room for the night and assured me she would provide new keys the next morning.
The next morning, when I went to the front desk, the same staff member had already assigned me the room I originally requested. I truly appreciated Tahira.K for her professionalism and helpfulness.
Thank you so much for your help

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Edmonton – Mall Area as a family with kids, and it was absolutely perfect for us! From the moment we walked in, the staff were welcoming, patient, and great with the children. Check-in was fast and friendly, and everyone made us feel at home.
Our room was spacious, spotless, and very quiet at night — which is huge when travelling with kids! The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated having lots of room to store suitcases and snacks.
The pool and hot tub were definitely the highlight for our kids. They asked to go every day! The pool area was clean, warm, and well maintained, and the hot tub was amazing for unwinding after busy days at the mall.
My partner and I loved the fitness centre, too. There was enough equipment for a real workout, everything was clean, and the hours were super convenient.
Breakfast was fantastic. Our kids had tons of choices — pancakes, fruit, hot food — and there was plenty of seating. The staff worked nonstop to keep everything stocked and clean, which we really appreciated.
The location is unbeatable for families. It’s only minutes from West Edmonton Mall, so we could come and go throughout the day without long drives or cranky car rides. Free parking was a big bonus.
What stood out most was the team. Every staff member we met was kind, helpful, and genuinely cared about making our stay comfortable. Travelling with kids can be stressful, but the staff here made everything easy and positive.
We will definitely stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Edmonton – Mall Area again. It’s clean, safe, friendly, and perfect for families visiting the city. Highly recommend!

0/5 – Absolutely Horrifying Experience – Bed Bugs Bit Our Newborn
This was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had, and I am still in shock that this happened at a Holiday Inn Express & Suites near West Edmonton Mall.
We woke up in the morning to our newborn crying uncontrollably. When we checked her, we discovered her tiny body was covered in fresh bite marks, some of them bleeding. We immediately checked the bed and were absolutely disgusted to find at least SIX live bed bugs crawling in the bed where our newborn was sleeping.
We rushed to the front desk to report this serious health and safety issue, expecting urgency and accountability. Instead, the staff acted like nothing had happened. In exchange for our “inconvenience,” they said they could offer us free bottles of water, as if that somehow made up for a bed bug infestation and our baby being bitten.
Their other solution was to send someone to “clean” the room instead of calling pest control. They also said they could change our room in 2–3 hours—after our baby had already been bitten repeatedly. No concern. No apology. No immediate action. No compassion.
When we asked to speak to a manager, we were told the manager was not available until midnight, which is completely unacceptable given the seriousness of the situation.
This hotel ruined our stay and traumatized us as new parents. Seeing your newborn’s body covered in bites because of unsanitary conditions is something no family should ever experience. This is hands down the worst hotel experience we have had in Canada, and especially shocking from a brand like Holiday Inn.
After 3 hours waiting in freezing lobby with a new born, the front desk offered us a room on the second floor. We specifically asked if she was sure there had been no bed bug incidents reported on that floor. She responded by saying that there were no issues on any other floors, but admitted that there had been a previous bed bug incident in our room. She claimed the room had been “inspected and cleaned” before being assigned to us.
This response was alarming. Cleaning is NOT how you control bed bugs—proper pest control is required. The staff clearly did not understand the severity of the issue or how infestations should be handled.
⚠️ DO NOT stay at this hotel under any circumstances, especially if you are traveling with children or a baby. Your health and safety are clearly not a priority here.
