I recently had a chance to stay at this hotel for a couple of days. The building feels quite old, and cleanliness—especially in the washrooms—could be improved. The stay included a complimentary breakfast, but the menu was the same every day, which got a bit repetitive. Overall, it wasn’t the best stay, but it was okay considering the price.

There was a miscommunication with a 3rd party booking. Chris was able to sort it out and get us into our room. The room was great, with all listed amenities. Would highly recommend this place

The stay was good. However, we paid for parking and received a ticket regardless. Hotel told us they’d take care of it and cancel the ticket as we paid. They sent us to collections despite telling us they would null the ticket so the service was not great. I’m not happy with how they handled it. We sent them proof of payment and have texts proving they’d fix it but they didn’t.

Dear IHG Customer Care,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express downtown edmonton. The experience fell far short of the standards I have come to expect from an IHG hotel.
Upon arrival, I was met with unprofessional and unhelpful service. The staff seemed disinterested in assisting guests, and even basic requests took an inordinate amount of time to be addressed. The overall attitude and lack of hospitality made the entire stay unpleasant.
Furthermore, the room and amenities did not align with the price I paid. The cleanliness, comfort, and quality of the facilities were subpar compared to what I expect from an IHG property. Considering the high rate, I felt completely overcharged for what I received.
I chose Holiday Inn Express because of my trust in the IHG brand for reliable service and quality accommodations. However, this experience has left me extremely dissatisfied and questioning my loyalty to the brand.
I kindly request that this issue be investigated and that appropriate action be taken to ensure other guests do not experience the same poor service. I also expect a response regarding possible compensation for this disappointing stay.
