We stayed at the Best Western Cedar Inn in Edmonton, and unfortunately , it was disappointing. We had high hopes as Best Western is our go to. The room given to us was dirty, and the receptionists were unclear and didn’t come across as very professional both upon check-in and out. Overall, it just wasn’t a great experience. I am trusting the reviews and will choose a different Best Western with better reviews next time we’re passing by the city.

I had a very disappointing experience at Best Western Cedar Park Inn, mainly due to the unprofessional behaviour of the receptionist, Alisha, and the manager, Robin. Both failed to address the issues I raised multiple times and made false promises to resolve them, only to never follow through. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and clearly falls short of Best Western’s corporate standards - they definitely need re-training. The hotel itself + the rooms +amenities were dirty and poorly maintained, which added to the frustration. Alisha and Robin are truly a different breed of unprofessional, and because of this experience, after decades of loyalty to Best Western, I’ve decided make the decision to switch hotel providers for both work and leisure travel…
I checked in on Monday evening after 5 PM. There was a new employee at the front desk who was being trained by Alysha. I have dealt with Alysha many times before and she has always been friendly and professional.
Unfortunately, during this visit, the new employee who assisted me had very strong body odor. It was quite unpleasant and made the check-in process uncomfortable. I found it difficult to remain at the desk to complete the process.
This experience was disappointing, as I expect a higher standard of professionalism and guest care. Due to this, I would rate my stay 1 out of 10 and would reconsider staying at this hotel again.

Alisha at front desk was GREAT the first night.
But overall throughout the stay, hotel wasn't staffed enough to provide services like bringing towels to the room, or a toilet plunger promptly when it was needed. Checked in with 4 people, but the room was only stocked with 3 sets of towels. I had to ask on day 1 for a fourth set. And then again on day 2 it was only stocked with 3. I asked for another set and they said I would have to come down to front desk to get it because they didn't have staff. When I went to front desk, they weren't able to give me a full set of towels -- they said they ran out.
On day 2 It took 45 minutes for them to bring a toilet plunger to the room... And that was at 11:45 at night!
There wasn't enough capacity in the breakfast room for things like toast... Only one toaster and it wasn't enough for the amount of people.
Elevator issues ... It wouldn't stop at certain floors.
Body wash dispenser was empty and shower and wasn't refilled on day 2.
Pool was downstairs in basement and kids under 16 need supervision but pool was very small and the space around it was even too small for an adult to sit there and read a book without getting splashed but pool was very small and the space around it was even too small for an adult to sit there and read a book without getting splashed
Overall, wouldn't stay there again.

🛑AVOID AT ALL COSTS 🛑
Traveling for a funeral is already emotionally exhausting, and arriving late at night, the last thing anyone expects is to be treated so poorly.
Best Western Cedar Park Inn on 51 Ave in Edmonton completely failed to provide even the most basic level of service.
We were given a USED room—yes, you read that right—like they just tossed us leftovers from another guest. The room was not clean, smelled off, and looked like it hadn’t been properly prepared at all. In fact someone’s used tissue greeted us as we walked through the door.
To make matters worse, when we expressed our distress, the staff members Himanshu and Harkirat actually laughed at the situation after giving us a new room, even though I was visibly upset in front of them. I feel very disrespected and angry that I chose this hotel to stay at.
I also spoke to the operations manager named Robin Bajwa, whom further worsened the issue with her lack of empathy and respect towards the nature of the situation, and ended up arguing with me, further distressing my family and I minutes before we had to leave for the funeral.
The staff at this location completely lack empathy and professionalism, which is shocking and deeply hurtful. This kind of careless treatment is beyond disappointing and frankly unprofessional.
If you value your comfort and dignity, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. There are plenty of hotels that actually care about their guests, unlike this one. Absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Would give zero stars if I could.
edit: 10 days later(2.14.26); no response from hotel or Best Western Corporate after submitting a formal complaint. Robin Bajwa (operations manager) did not uphold her promise to investigate this matter. I guess this is how their “valued guests” are treated! if it were possible, it would be -0 stars.
