I went in last year, inquiring about a warm vacation and found deals etc on my phone faster and better than what the agent found, yet was charged 100.
For an upcoming trip to Iceland, they jammed on two scheduled calls and I wound up booking hotels and tours myself and found flight information. They charged 200 to book flights I found and recommended. They have no bundling savings, can't beat prices on booking.com or Expedia, get same flight prices as found online.
I asked for assistance with booking cars, which should be their thing being AMA, and they are failing there too.
I learned a lesson...no need for a travel agent in today's world, and these AMA fees are a rip off.
I think they just got 200 consulting fee for 10 minutes of work which I could have done. I thought there would be other assistance, but nope.
Incredibly disappointed and telling everyone I know about the horrible experience.

I called AMA to discuss Travel Medical Insurance and was lucky enough to have Stephanie S. take my call .... she is extremely knowledgeable, pleasant to talk with, very patient with my many questions, and prompt to respond when I had follow up questions. Keep up the great work Stephanie!

All employees were extremely patient and nice. And it was overall a good experience. But there was this employee named Lee who was extremely rude and just overall unprofessional. He was very snappy and snarky towards paying members/customers.
