I had a genuinely great stay at the Hilton Homewood Suites near Calgary Airport and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, practical, and welcoming place to stay.
From the moment I arrived, the service stood out — especially Gerard at the front desk. He was friendly, courteous, calm, and extremely professional. He immediately put me at ease and made everything feel effortless. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and that kind of genuine hospitality makes a big difference after a long day of travel.
The rooms are enormous and incredibly practical, which suited me perfectly. They’re not ultra-modern, but they’re also not tired or dated in a way that feels budget or “three-star.” A light refresh at some point would elevate them further, but as they are, they’re clean, neat, and very comfortable. If you’re chasing a high-end four- or five-star luxury vibe, this probably isn’t the room style for you — but if you value space, functionality, and comfort, it absolutely hits the mark.
The smart TV is excellent and very easy to mirror from your own device, which I really appreciated. It’s a small detail, but one that makes settling in much easier.
The lobby and dining areas are also very pleasant — well presented, comfortable, and inviting without trying too hard. Breakfast was another highlight: a generous and well-thought-out spread with plenty of choice. There’s everything from hot savoury options to waffles and pancakes, cereals and oats, fresh fruit and yoghurt, and pastries. Coffee, tea, and juices are freely available, and you can help yourself as often as you like.
Overall, this hotel strikes a great balance between comfort, practicality, and genuinely warm service. It’s an excellent option near the airport, and the staff — especially Gerard — really elevate the experience. I’d gladly stay here again.
