The room is a little old, currently they are doing exterior renovation, make me almost missed the place.
Location is convenient, just beside Banff trail, 201 station. Breakfast is also nice, you can have some choices of fruit except coffee and tea. The Omelet is delicious.

We were booked to stay at the Hampton Inn on Banff Trail, but did not realize that the hotel is under renovation. The renovation itself we could’ve lived with, but the rooms available were behind a plastic barrier where building envelope upgrades are taking place.
We were told that this is noted on the hotel website under policies (who reads these?). I feel this should be more prominently displayed on the homepage of the hotel, as well as on any third-party site that is listing this location, such as booking.com which we had used.
I have to give the hotel credit for the fact that they immediately offered a refund without any penalties.
Thankfully, we found a room at the Holiday Inn up the street, although at a higher rate.
I would try this location again, once renovations are completed.

I arrive to Calgary for a conference, only to find my booking is cancelled! The receptionist says the credit card was declined. I then call my workplace since work paid for the booking, but the receptionist says they can't accept the payment online, and they won't accept my credit or debit payment. All that credit policy is fine, but the uncaring & inhospitable attitude of the receptionist, and the fact that they did not even call before cancelling really upset me. While I waited at the lobby to try find another hotel, a couple arrived only to find their booking cancelled as well! Same unfortunate scene played out! I was arriving from Halifax, it was snowing, and I just wished some kindness would have helped a lot. The only suggestion for an alternative hotel the staff suggested was one they said was not any good. Fortunately the Econo lodge hotel receptionist next door was very kind and recommended Alt hotel, which accepted my work's credit payment. Plus the staff at Alt hotel are so kind, helpful and hospitable. I am never booking a Hampton Inn again, it's a sure way to sleep outside just because the rude staff dare not resolve a small misunderstanding. Book with them at your own risk!
