Upon check in, the lady talking like a machine, not even professional. Cookies should be handed out first to the guests instead of asking "do you want chocolate cookies? " as per the brand standard. Morning breakfast is even worse... We understand the hotel is busy with 98% of occupancy, but there is not enough food runner working in the buffet area. We were about to pay $21 for the buffet, but all the hot food containers are empty, we waited for 10 mins for the poor food runner to replace the new one, but we run out of time and with tons of teenagers, omg... No we are not paying for this. Talked to the server already, the breakfast buffet shouldn't be charged to my cc. Thanks

I would give this hotel a 6 out of 5 if I could. What an amazing stay we had. The front desk has amazing ladies, shout out to my girl Yohanna who made our stay extra special just by being her. I unfortunately don't remember the other ladies' names, but I believe one is Angelica. The cleaning staff are on the ball, the room was impeccable everyday (6 night stay). The pool area was very clean. The lobby is beautiful. The location perfect. Turn right and head straight to Banff. Plenty of restaurants close by and gas right next door. I highly recommend.

I had a good stay at this hotel, the staff was friendly and the freshly baked cookies at check in was a nice touch. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative comment i have is that they make you pay for the water bottle of your take one, I think water bottles should be complementary

This is a review of Doubletree in general, after my sister and I tried to book a room for an event at the Doubletree Calgary North. The phone number led us to an automated AI respondent that used a convincing, very human voice and did NOT identify itself as an AI. And here's the thing: Not only did it not identify itself up front as an AI, but there simulated noise in the supposed background of other voices as one might here in a busy call centre. Also, the voice the AI used had a slight but definitely present non-native speaker accent to it. OK, this is now an attempt to deceive us as customers. If a company is going to use an AI to answer calls, at least initially, fine. But tell us that that is what it is... and don't subtly lie to us by using an accent and fake call centre backgroud noise. That's disingenuous and insulting. I'm willing to try to deal with an AI but I'm not willing to be insulted. Because of a certain hesitation and lacklustre nature to the AI's answers as it spoke to my sister, I told her to outright ask if it was an AI, and it then confirmed that it was. (This was on speaker phone so I heard the accent and fake background noise.) We had been asking about a price to rent an event room and it was trying to steer us toward registering an online account, to which my sister asked, "Why do you need my personal info just because I'm asking a price?" (That was before I told her to ask if it was an AI.) So that's another thing that Doubletree did to alienate us. Don't railroad us into making another account that we don't want or need. Just give us the price when we ask. If we decide to do business with you, and an account will help, then we might do it. But not when we're just asking what it costs. As the AI would not proceed to give us a price, my sister asked to be connected to a human, and it gave us a phone number to call, which just led to a frustrating phone menu and we did not reach a human after having spent time on the phone already so we gave up in disgust. The event will be held elsewhere. Doubletree, you should: a) have your AIs identify themselves as such b) not have fake background noises and accents to fake a call centre atmosphere c) connect people fairly directly to a human if they ask to be connected to a human d) do not railroad people into creating an account with you just to get a simple answer to a pricing question.
