We needed a hotel with a shuttle service to the airport for a morning flight, and this BW met all our needs. Got a great rate, had a nice room (although the TV would only work for streaming, not cable channels), and an excellent shuttle service. Went to the bar to watch the hockey & football games c/w craft beer and a whiskey. Win Win!

Room was ok, but the Indian receptionist/manager was absolutely rude.
We asked to change our room from one king bed to two double beds and were asked by that guy to contact the third party to make the change. However I was not able to operate that since the website had some technical issue.
Then I talked to the other lady at the front desk. Fortunately she was very helpful and kind to have the room changed for us.
In the next morning, during checking out, the Indian guy asked if we could reach out to the third party. I told him we were able to have two-beds room anyways, thanks to the lady’s help. Then he got mad, saying it was he who let us do that. He claimed that the room could not be changed without his permission. Since we were about to catch a flight, we didn’t bother arguing with him. But that guy wouldn’t stop talking really loud even when we were walking out of the gate.
I was very shocked by the way that he dealt with customers. And I wish I could leave 0 star for the service.

It's a bit out of the way, as far as restaurants are concerned. You have to drive at least 10 minutes and there's not much closer than that besides a Wendy's and an A&W. The hotel is nice. The pool with a slide was a big hit with the kids. The rooms are very nice, with a mini fridge, microwave, and a bar sink, which was very nice to have.

I am writing to formally complain about my recent reservation experience with Best Western Premier Freeport Calgary and to request a full refund.
On [date], I called the hotel to make a reservation. During this call, I clearly told the agent that I did not want to make any payment and only wanted to hold a reservation. The agent confirmed that this was fine and never informed me of any cancellation policy or that I would be charged if I canceled.
Approximately 25 minutes later, I called back to cancel the reservation. At that time, I was told that I could not cancel and that I would be charged. I explained that I was never informed of any cancellation policy during the original call, but my concern was dismissed.
I then contacted the hotel again and was instructed to call another number and leave a voicemail. I did so, but no one returned my call. I later spoke with a hotel manager who again instructed me to call the same number, which resulted in no assistance. I feel I was repeatedly redirected without resolution.
I was charged despite:
Canceling within minutes
Never staying at the hotel
Never receiving the room or any service
Never being informed of a cancellation or penalty policy
Charging a guest without proper disclosure is unacceptable and unfair. I am requesting a full refund immediately.
If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the matter to Best Western Corporate Customer Care and dispute the charge with my credit card company.
I expect your response within 5 business days.

This hotel sucks. The carpet in our room was still dirty. We called ahead with an inquiry and the person who answered was not knowledgeable at all. The person who checked us in was lovely, though. Very little amenities. It's close to the airport but almost kind of industrial. There are definitely better hotels in the area and would not choose this one again.
