Astound is, by far, the WORST internet provider i have dealt with. And I've had Comcast. I constantly have to re-sign in my devices and switch to mobile data. Internet reliability is null. Unfortunately I live in a building that Astound is hard wired into. So. I have no other option. If you have a different choice for interwebs providers, take it..

We reached out from our business after they came through offering their services in our building. Our contact was extremely rude and said they were not a good fit for our business after we sent them our current pricing for possible price matching. He stated that since we were just looking for better pricing and not faster speeds he wouldn't be working with us. We never expected special pricing, we were just interested in what they were offering the building. I would recommend any businesses looking for better service to avoid working with them.

Jordan was excellent in doing our connection. He was thorough and also asked for customer feedback for the whole process to improve manual touchpoints. Customer service representative was not very helpful when i had called. This visit by technician was not required as everything could have been done remotely if customer service waa equipped to do it

I have been an Astound Broadband Powered by Wave customer for over 3 years and only called recently to upgrade from 1 Gbps to their advertised 1.5 Gbps plan. The experience has been extremely frustrating and confusing. First, I was told they could not upgrade my existing rented modem even though it was working fine. I have been paying roughly $23/month to rent their modem and have spent close to $1,000 over time in rental fees alone. I purchased my own modem to avoid rental costs and called support for activation. The representative was polite and setup was easy, but the modem began disconnecting at least once per day. When I called back for troubleshooting, the solution offered was to buy another modem. I then purchased a top-tier Netgear Nighthawk CM3000 DOCSIS 3.1 modem (up to 2.5 Gbps capable) and upgraded my home network with a high-end ASUS WiFi 7 router. After installation, I was still told my service was limited to 1 Gbps. Support repeatedly insisted my modem “only supports 1 Gbps,” which is simply incorrect based on manufacturer specs. After escalating to a supervisor, I was told I needed to buy a TP-Link AX5400 router in order for them to approve 1.5 Gbps service. This makes no technical sense since routers do not determine cable provisioning speeds, and I already own significantly higher-end equipment. At this point I am left wondering if: • customer-owned equipment is not properly provisioned on their system • my neighborhood infrastructure is not actually ready for higher speeds • or support staff simply lack training on modern hardware The communication has been inconsistent, the guidance contradictory, and I have spent significant money based on advice that does not appear accurate. I will be escalating this issue to executive support and requesting clarification from senior technical staff.

To be clear this review is of the company as a whole (not the Seattle location specifically) but Astound is one of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Every few months my bill would go up by $20-$30 and I'd have to call in and ask them to lower it again. I realize this is somewhat common practice with ISPs but Astound does it more frequently and larger increases than I have dealt with in the past. For reference, at the end of 2024 my bill was $76/month. In Jan 2025 it jumped to $112, I called and they lowered it back to $79, which stayed for 4 months, before it jumped to $84 for 7 months, and then jumped again to $109 two months ago. My service has never changed. Also, when I would run a speed test I never got more than 50% of the quoted speed, often less. I FINALLY have another option in my area and when I called to cancel my Astound service of course they offered better service at a lower price (which I declined) and was also told that even though I requested to cancel on 2/24 I have to pay through the end of the billing cycle on 3/18 because "that's their policy". Very glad to be done with them, good riddance.
