On September 10, I visited the store and received the bundle (TV, internet, and phone). Alex and Aaron (Mgr) helped me. I asked to place the TV service on a 90-day seasonal pause. I had to return to the store on September 25 because this was never done! Aaron agreed to credit my account $45, but only $36.00 was credited.
So, on October 1, 2020, I called and spoke with Charity, who was so rude that I asked to speak with her supervisor. Shawn identified himself as the floor supervisor and was extremely helpful. I asked him to listen to the recording with Charity; he said he would, but I never heard back.
Later, I received a bill for $164.38! It should have been only $64.79 ($40 internet/$20 seasonal pause for TV), and the phone is free and unlimited for the next 12 months.
Things got worse! During my conversation with Shawn, I learned that Alex and Aaron:
• "They lowered the speed on the Internet…back on the 10th." No one informed me, nor did I request, that my internet speed be "lowered." Why wasn't I given the option?
I asked Why did they do that? His response: "I'm not quite sure…I can just say that you went from a plan in which you had 500 megabits per second down to a 300 megabits per second plan."
• Shawn probed further because I wanted to know why my bill was so high…he could not explain the additional cost but allowed me to pay $64.16 (internet and season hold on TV).
• Shawn also advised the phone bill is billed separately…neither Alex nor Aaron shared that! He stated: "Ms. Brown, the way the billing system is handled, even with Spectrum, is that the mobile is billed, even though it's still built through Spectrum; it is on a completely separate bill from the home services." I was never informed of that!
Lastly, as Alex was wrapping up the transaction, I noticed things had stalled, so I asked what was holding things up. He said he'd told his supervisor, Aaron, that he needed the "code," but apparently Aaron had forgotten because he was outside the store talking with a customer! I ran to the door and yelled, "We need the code." He ran back inside, apologized, and agreed to give me a $20 credit for keeping me waiting. I waited at least 10-15 minutes! So unprofessional!
Shawn is the ONLY reason I haven’t canceled my service! I’m requesting that someone from corporate—not the store—contact me. I’ll be working from home and need my speed restored to 500 megabits per second.
