  I had such a great experience with our RCN technician today! He actually arrived earlier than our scheduled 1–5 PM window, called ahead to make sure it was okay, and was extremely professional from the moment he arrived. What impressed me most was that he took the time to actually troubleshoot the problem instead of just doing a quick fix. He discovered that we had three different lines feeding at the same time and competing with each other, along with an old TiVo splitter that was still connected. Because of that setup, we were getting nowhere near the internet service/speed we should have been receiving. He carefully went through everything, figured out exactly what was causing the issue, corrected it, and explained what he was doing along the way. He even made use of some of my husband’s tools to get the job done rather than leaving the problem unresolved. Once he finished, we turned everything on and had internet immediately! It was refreshing to have someone come into our home who was knowledgeable, respectful, professional, and genuinely determined to figure out the problem. Excellent service from start to finish. RCN is lucky to have a technician who takes pride in his work like this. Thank you!

  Ben was a lifesaver! After three technicians couldn't pinpoint the issue, he quickly identified and resolved the problem. His knowledge and resourcefulness were impressive, even managing to set up our new router when the power unexpectedly went out. Excellent, fast service!

  Many years long time customer here.All Emails suddenly stopped workingi including very important business one. Customers service, that sounds like out of this country is completely useless, and has no clue or any reason for the failure or how to fix the problem. except changing password. Even that gave them lots of problems. I am very disappointed. I was RCN ASTOUND Customer for 20 years

  Astound Broadband (formerly RCN) has been one of the most frustrating internet providers I have ever dealt with. I can’t wait until a class action is filed. I lose service every single day, and it’s beyond exhausting. I’ve been working 100% remotely since January, and reliable internet is essential for my job. Instead, I’ve had to restart or unplug my equipment at least 5–10 times a week just to stay connected. Over the past several months, Astound has sent multiple technicians to my home and even “upgraded my equipment”. Every time, I’m told the issue has been resolved. Everything works perfectly for about 72 hours. Then I’m right back to dealing with dropped connections, interruptions, and the same ongoing problems. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that in Bethlehem Township, Astound is the only provider servicing my area, leaving customers with little to no alternative. When you work remotely, dependable internet isn’t a luxury it’s a necessity. No one should have to wonder whether they’ll be able to do their job each day because their internet provider can’t deliver consistent service. Changing the company name from RCN to Astound may have rebranded the business, but unfortunately, it did not improve the reliability of the service. Customers deserve stable internet, honest communication, and lasting solutions not temporary fixes that fail within days. I cannot recommend Astound based on my experience. Stay away! I have screenshots of over 55 chat sessions and phone calls I had with this company.

  I switched my service over to my new address, about two months ago, and just found out today that I was getting charged for BOTH addresses, even though I called and told them I was transferring everything to the new address. Then they charged my debit card today and told me they can’t give me a refund, even though it was their mistake. They need to train their employees better. Very unprofessional and annoying. Especially since I always make my payments on time. Little mistakes can become big problems. And I was a victim of that today.
