I would give them zero stars if it was possible.
I don’t usually do reviews, good or bad.
I am doing this one because it was so messed up, I just want to save you nice people out there some frustration.
Here is my story. I currently have Centurylink internet and saw an ad for Spectrum who just joined or bought Cox. I figured I would try it out and see if it was any better. I was going to try it for 30 days and pay for both while I decided.
I made my account and ordered the 100mbps speed for $30 a month and a $20 activation fee. Seems reasonable. They even give you a modem to use for free. They were supposed to ship me the modem which they did. Not sure why it took so long but it was longer than expected. This wasn’t a big deal until I got my bill on my account saying service was activated September 27th. I thought that was strange since, I still didn’t even have the modem. I got on the chat on October 1st and asked if they could tell me when my modem might arrive. The service agent said I needed to pick it up in store. I said, I was told it was being shipped. They looked into it further and said it was delivered at 2:56pm on September 30th. I then asked why my service was activated before I even had the modem and was told to contact billing. I figured, okay let me just get this hooked up and then I will look into that.
October 2nd is when I open the modem box and decide to hook it up. It came with a QR code to scan for easy set up.
Well, I have multiple cable hook ups in my house and tried them all. I couldn’t get it to work. I got with tech support who said I needed to schedule a technician to come out to try to fix it. I declined and said, this has already been a big hassle.
I called the number provided to just go ahead and cancel the service. I figured since I never got it to work and never used the service it would be both sides just cutting ties and go about our lives. I was wrong, the lady said they would prorate the service and that I owed $26. To which I responded “ for what”. The service was activated before I even got the modem and then it never worked. So, not sure how I even owe anything. She responded with, you will have to call billing. I was told that I had to mail back the modem at my own cost and I asked why I couldn’t just drop it off at the local store. She said that was fine. Seems like that should have been mentioned as an option. I ask to get transferred to billing once our conversation was over. I waited 10 minutes and then the line went dead. I called billing on my own, waited 1 hour 10 minutes and finally gave up.
I would not recommend Cox or Spectrum to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else for internet.

Cox consistently has major packet loss issues. If they weren't the only option around here, it would be a no-brainer to switch off from them. These issues have been consistent for around two years now and show no signs of stopping. If you have the ability to take your money elsewhere, definitely do so. Never in my life have I ever seen Internet service this poor. And For what you pay, it's a joke. AVOID COX AT ALL COSTS

My service went down, I paid my bill yesterday. I checked to ensure it came off my bank account. I went in-store to try and figure what was going on. And was held for ransom in order to turn my service back on. They claimed they were the only providers and must deal with what they charge me. I get 34mbps download and .5 upload and has to pay $269 monthly. Never again. Do not go with cox, trap.

Do not get their mobile service. Its the worst. Their phones suck and the connection is slow. If I wasn't tied to them by contract I would leave their service. Don't make the mistake I made. I totally DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
