- MMMarsMar 15, 20261.0I loathe Cox, but it genuinely feels like there aren’t many other options when it comes to internet in Gainesville. We pay for fast internet as I work from home and my partner is big into gaming. Often times I can’t stream or work while he plays video games, despite the package we pay for being fully capable of allowing us to both use the internet at once. It will result in tv shows buffering, his games lagging, and when we test the speed it isn’t even CLOSE to the upload or download speeds we pay for. It feels like at least 2-3 times a month I’m having to use a hotspot because they’re doing “planned maintenance.” It’s always at the most inconvenient times with no notice. It feels like the higher my bill is, the worse my internet connection gets.
