  Terrible experience with Astound, particularly with how our service appointment was handled. We scheduled an installation appointment with an arrival window of 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. We were specifically told that we would receive a call one hour before the technician arrived, which is also documented in our email correspondence. 12:00 PM came and went with no technician and no call. We contacted Astound and were told that the technician would arrive at some point, but no specific timeframe could be provided. At 12:57 PM, we called again. Keith assisted us and confirmed that the technician had not yet arrived. During that conversation, we were told that a $20 credit would be applied to our account. The call ended around 1:05 PM, and the conversation is documented in our phone log. By 2:00 PM, there was still no technician. We called again and spoke with Rich, a manager. Rich told us that the technician had already come, and that any other manager would simply tell us the same thing. He also stated that the appointment could only be rescheduled a week out. We disputed this, as we had received no call, no notification, and no indication that anyone had arrived at our home. We then asked to be transferred to another manager. We were placed on hold for nearly 30 minutes. After that wait, Rich informed us that no manager was available to speak with us. The entire experience was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Scheduling issues happen, but being given conflicting information, having our time wasted, and then being told a technician supposedly came to our home when no one contacted us is unacceptable. Rich’s handling of the situation was especially disappointing. He showed no willingness to take responsibility or meaningfully resolve the issue, and his attitude only made an already frustrating situation worse. This was our first experience with Astound, and it will be our last. If this is how the company handles a basic installation appointment, I have no interest in finding out how they handle more serious issues.

  Astound is horrendous. Unfortunately it’s my only option for area service. For a month, I’ve attempted to unravel the incorrect address that Astound assigned to my bulk account - 5 calls to India with the most incompetent people, disconnected my service, cancelled my appointment without my knowledge, & charged $176 to my bulk account. In order to assign the correct router info to the correct address, an onsite tech visit was required sccirfing to Astound - shouldn’t this have been done in my initial installation? You will be lied to & get virtually no assistance from offshore customer service. Spent another 2 hr customer service call last week to set up another tech appointment & get the charges removed from the non bulk account since it’s not my address. Yup, no show again for today’s tech appointment.

  Showing up at your house unannounced is indeed not a great business model. This is the second time in 4 days someone has showed up because they “got a ping” that someone at our address was checking prices and potentially interested in their service. It’s giving scummy car salesmen and definitely doesn’t make me interested in their service. It’s honestly rude and inconsiderate. Some people work night shifts, have sleeping babies, etc. This might be a wild idea - but maybe try calling first and seeing when the best time to show up would be.
