    I had a very disappointing experience with Cox regarding the setup of internet service for my new apartment. When I went into the Palomar Street store, I was informed that the previous resident had not canceled their service, which created issues with activating my account. I ended up spending nearly three hours in the store while they worked on the problem. During that visit, I was told I would receive a discount for the inconvenience and that someone would call me back within 2–3 days with an update. Unfortunately, I never received a call. After waiting more than a week, I had to follow up myself, only to find that nobody seemed interested in honoring what I had been told or helping resolve the situation. I was also disappointed with the customer service. The manager I spoke with in the store, who had several piercings and tattoos, was not very personable or helpful throughout the process. When I later called for assistance, I spoke with Bernardo, who was rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue, I felt like my concerns were brushed aside. What really surprised me was being told that they didn’t care if I took my business elsewhere. After hearing that, I did some research and ended up finding a much better internet deal through my cell phone provider. In the end, I guess I should thank Cox for motivating me to look at other options. I understand that account issues can happen, but communication and follow-through matter. Spending nearly three hours in the store, never receiving the promised callback, and then being treated poorly when I followed up made for a very frustrating experience. Overall, I expected much better customer service from Cox.

    My elderly grandparents pay their bill occasionally at this location but are always given a hard time. Certain staff don’t know how to accept or deposit check payments. Every transaction they receive a receipt- only this time the man who assisted them said he put the payment through and when they asked for receipt he said they’d get one via email. They do not have an email associated to their account ! Instead of saying he didn’t know how to input the check manually he acted as if it posted , didn’t provide the receipt and sent them on their way. By doing this , not only was the payment not posted but now their bill is behind a month and they were charged an additional fee for it!! He even went as far as to tell them they couldn’t pay there and need to go to a different cox location because they’re all different… if you have elderly relatives who still take the traditional route to pay please be aware & assure things are being done correctly.
