Horrible experience.
I went into the store because I wanted the 300 Mbps plan for $55/month. I specifically told the employee at the counter that’s the plan I wanted. She told me everything looked good and that I only needed to pay the $40 deposit, so I paid it and left thinking everything was set.
Then this month I found out my bill was almost $100. I was shocked because that’s not the plan I signed up for. I called customer service and was transferred three different times. Thankfully, the representative was able to look into it and said they corrected my bill, but I’ll believe it once I see the updated amount.
While I was on the phone, I also filed a complaint against the store. After reviewing everything, the supervisor and I were able to figure out which employee helped me. The biggest issue is that she never told me she was signing me up for the 1 Gig plan. She never explained any of the details that the phone representative later told me about. I had no idea my plan had been changed.
As a first-time Cox customer, this is incredibly disappointing. I had never even heard of Cox until I moved here. I was a Spectrum customer for four years, and I never had a problem like this.
It’s very unprofessional to have employees either untrained or intentionally giving customers incorrect information. If employees receive higher commissions for selling more expensive plans, then signing customers up for a plan they didn’t agree to is unacceptable and, in my opinion, fraudulent.
I sincerely hope management addresses this with their employees so no one else has to go through what I did. And ima be leaving this exact review with both of my email accounts 😤😤

Huge shoutout to Alex at the Cox store. They provided incredible service—incredibly informational without feeling overwhelming, and handled everything with impressive speed. It’s rare to find such a great balance of expertise and efficiency. Cox is lucky to have them on the team!

The inadequacy of the representatives in this store is exactly one major reason why people have issues with this company.
This is a long process. It involved 3 trips to the store and 2 more calls to agents to finally resolve the problem. I am not using two girls names because the original girl tried to help me to the best of her ability and from what she was told to do by Alex who seemed to be training her or at the least had more experience than her. The girl on my final trip didn't have a name tag, didn't give me her name and was very rude to me and with the way she spoke to the original girl I just wanted her to go sit back down with Alex since she said she couldn't help me.
Here we go...
1st in-store visit...told me there was a package that would give me unlimited inter card as well as a mobile line for $85. I didn't get a phone then but was told to hang on to the SIM card for a back-up phone. I get home, looked on my app and noticed the price wasn't what they told me so I immediately called the store. The girl that answered said it would update by the next billing cycle.
2nd in-store visit...went in because I was charged $133 for internet and $10 mobile. The girl that helped me originally was called over and explained to the girl helping on this visit that Alex didn't finalize it like he was supposed to. Alex was sitting at a table to the corner of the room. The girl told him what happened and he told her "e-mail it to me and I'll get it done" not even trying to get up and come over to help. The girl told me he'd have it done by the end of the week.
3rd in-store visit...It's now been 6 weeks and another billing cycle. I'm charged $133 for internet and now mobile went up to $43. I go in and there's a new girl that meets me at the door. She puls up my account and isn't saying anything. I notice the girl that helped me originally has finished with the customers she was helping and she calls out to Alex. She remembered me and realized he must not have followed thru...again!! The girl that's helping me calls her over and starts talking down to her that she should have followed up and made sure he did it. I tried to explain to her that Alex was involved almost seeming like he was training her on that very first visit so he actually acted like he was above her. That girl liter6told me "ma'am please" and continued talking down to the original girl. I felt so bad for this poor girl as she stood there and took that in front of me, other customers and co-workers...including Alex sitting at the same table he's always at. The issue supposedly gets worked out and I asked how to get the money they say I owe, because of their mistakes, taken off my account. The girl says she put in for an approval to have that taken off. Not much else I could do so I crossed my fingers and went home.
Within an hour of me leaving the store I receive a call/voicemail saying they received a request to give a refund but because my phone hasn't been activated they can't do anything so I needed to do that first. I try to do that and my account says there's nothing to activate. I basically have a SIM card that doesn't work. I go thru 2 agents and finally get Diane in Vegas. She was amazing!! She found that basically all they did in the store was try to get a sale. Which makes sense as to why when I ended up not buying a phone Alex had no more energy to help resolve the issue. There was never any way for the package they said was best for my situation to even work because I didn't even have a phone number to activate. Once the agent, Diane, explained it to me it made so much sense.
After 1 hour and 42 minutes on the phone I finally have a great package that Diane helped figure out. She took her time moving everything around and fixed everything Alex screwed up because of pure greed and laziness.

I had the pleasure of having Skyler help me establish service at my new home. He was so kind and friendly while assisting me which made it an enjoyable experience. I explained what my needs were and he directed me to the most appropriate plan that was perfectly suited for my household. I had an unusual situation because the previous owner of my new home hadn’t discontinued their cable/internet service and I had to show that I was the new owner before any changes could be made to the account. The manager had to assist us with this and he was very understanding of the fact that I wasn’t prepared to do this and needed to sort through my emails in order to show proof of ownership. Skyler (and the managers understanding)made something I was dreading taking care of a pleasurable experience. I’m also quite pleased with my monthly cost which is a fraction of what I was paying with my previous provider.
