Flipping the review system on it's head. Preemptively giving the Cox store a bad review, and if they dont harrass me about mobile, as I am broke and canceling service for now. Will up to 5 stars otherwise I am done here.
Update: As promised, my visit was wonderful and harrassless so huge kudos to the man that helped me, thank you, he'll be the reason I come back to Cox someday.

The day after Christmas, my mom and I visited this Cox location so she could discuss options for lowering her internet bill. We were assisted by an employee named Kyler, who was very polite on the surface. However, the experience quickly became concerning.
Kyler repeatedly stated that he would not personally profit from us switching from T-Mobile to Cox, which I found unprofessional to bring up in the first place. He also told us that he personally uses T-Mobile for his own service. I should have taken that as a red flag, but I chose to trust that he was being honest and acting in the customer’s best interest.
I work in sales myself and always prioritize what is best for the person I’m serving, so I try to give other sales professionals the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced here.
Kyler never once asked about our actual usage needs. As someone who travels frequently for work, reliable service is essential for me. Within just a few days of switching, I experienced repeated service outages. I’ve taken screenshots documenting the numerous times my service dropped. After discussing everything at home, it became very clear that we were never properly evaluated for the right plan — just sold a service.
Another thing that now stands out is that multiple sales reps, including Kyler, asked us to leave a Google review while we were there. I now understand why. If the service and business are truly good, there is no need to ask or push customers to leave reviews — the work speaks for itself. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.
I’m extremely disappointed that I didn’t catch these red flags sooner, especially considering the line of work I’m in. But you live and you learn.
For anyone considering switching to Cox from Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T: I strongly advise against it. This experience felt driven by making a sale rather than truly helping the customer, and the service quality has been extremely disappointing.
I will be visiting the Midwest City location to discontinue my services. Thankfully, my phone is paid off, so I’m able to cancel without issue. Cox will not be receiving another dime from me, and I will never step foot in a Cox location again.
