Not speaking of this branch, but Cox in general! I've been with them over 5 years for internet which started at around 50 a month for a year or so, and then they tripled the price and it went up to 150. Absolutely ridiculous, so they told me if I got their pathetic phone plan that I could save about $50 a month, so I went ahead and did that.
They REQUIRE a checking account for mobile service and all I have is a prepaid card that allows you to have an account number and a routing number to use as a checking account. Maybe if they took their money immediately like normal people do, we wouldn't keep running into the same problem with prepaid cards. I made a payment on saturday, I was waiting around for them to take the money out, it's already wednesday, money is still in the account.
Now, because THEIR SYSTEM failed to take the payment when they should have, I have a restriction on my account which forces me to go into the store. Keep in mind, I am disabled, I do not drive, which means not only do I have to pay somebody to get me there and back because it's all the way on the other side of town, I also have to miss work! So, they refuse to take my payment on the phone today. I have five different debit cards with money on every single one of them, and they refuse to take my payment!!!
The phone is garbage, the internet goes out all the time, I will be going to the store location to pay off my bill, and cancel this pathetic service. I will also be reporting them to American disabilities act as well as the better Business bureau for shady business practices against people who are trying to pay their bill and being REFUSED payment! It's not my fault you require a checking account and not everyone has one, you should have said that before you let somebody sign up for your pathetic service. Why is a checking required for phone service and not internet? That makes absolutely no sense.
So you can take your garbage $10 phone back because that's all it's worth, and your pathetic internet too. Forcing disabled people and seniors who don't drive to go into the store after YOU refused to take their money is going to look real good on the news and all over social media. The customer service on the phone was absolutely horrid, and I am reporting that as well.
Get your act together before it's you in court!

Terrible service and worse customer service. Daily outages, zero support, some individual with zero knowledge reading off a script, even after you tell them you did the five listed steps online they are scripted to tell you again to waste your time. Absolutely just terrible customer service and company overall. Glad I’m switching!

Very dishonest business services. I went through the sign up process and was told, "We have a contract with your complex, your box should already be in the apartment and ready for activation." They were a more pricey service for less internet speed, but because they had a "contract" with my complex, I obliged. Then I couldn't find my box and called my apartment only for them to be shocked and confused because they dont have contracts with ANY internet providers. I immediately called back that day, explained what happened and asked for my account to be closed. I was assured I was not an activated customer and wouldn't be charged, just to receive a $50 bill 2 weeks later. You cannot gain customers off of fraudulent practices.

I appreciate you taking the time and explaining things to me. Well done!
