    Had issues and no service for 3 months. Kept being told it was an issue on my end. So I spend the money to get new equipment and nothing changed. So, failed attempt after failed attempt, I decide to change my providers. Made the switch in September and called Nextlink to cancel. I'm then told that they will send it to the billing department to have them close out my account. Now it's the beginning of January and I get a letter in the mail saying thanks for your payment. So I look up my bank statements and I've been charged since September. So I call them and ask for a refund. They tell me that they can't because they tried to contact me to cancel my service and they couldn't get ahold of me. Seriously?!? I called first asking to have it canceled! So why didn't they cancel it when I called in the beginning?! This company is such a joke! Don't get trapped into paying this company or they will steal your money!

    2024-10-07 UPDATE: I HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH, I SENT A REQUEST TO FIND OUT HOW LONG BEFORE MY TOWER WOULD BE UPGRADED AND THE RESPONSE I GOT WAS (PARAPHRASING) WE HAVE NO IDEA (JUST ABOUT EVERY TOWER AROUND ME HAS BEEN UPGRADED) I AM DONE WITH 5MEG DOWN. ON 9/26 I ORDERED MY STARLINK KIT AND IT ARRIVED ON WEDNESDAY 10/2. TOOK ALL OF MAYBE 10 MINUTES TO GET IT SETUP AND RUNNING, GETTING MY 100MEG DOWN. HAVE SENT IN A REQUEST TO TERMINATE MY NEXTLINK ACCOUNT. I AM SO DONE WITH THEM! FIRST I HAVE HAD THIS ACCOUNT FOR 16 YEARS, STARTED OUT AS KAIZEN, THEN THEY WERE AQUIRED BY BSPEEDY, THEN THEY WERE AQUIRED BY NEXTLINK. I HAVE NEVER BEEN AS CLOSE AS I WAS TODAY TO CANCELING THIS ACCOUNT. EARLIER THIS WEEK I HAD NOTICED SOME CHANGES TO MY INTERNET SO THOUGHT MAYBE FINALLY MY TOWER HAD BEEN UPGRADED. WENT ONLINE PUT MY ADDRESS IN, NOW NORMALLY IT ALWAYS SHOWED NOTHING WAS AVAILABLE, BUT THIS TIME IT CAME UP AND TOLD ME MY ADDRESS WAS ELIGIBLE FOR AN UPGRADE. TALKED TO A SUPPORT PERSON WHO TOLD ME MY TOWER WAS UPGRADED AND I COULD UPGRADE TO A NEW PACKAGE. SO I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR TODAY 8/30 AND TOOK THE DAY OFF. I SPECIFICALLY MADE SURE IT WAS MY TOWER AND NOT SOME OTHER TOWER IN THE AREA. I WAS NOT ASKED ANY OTHER QUESTIONS AND THE APOINTMENT WAS SETUP. WELL 8/30 COMES THE TECH SHOWS UP AND SORRY CANT DO IT TODAY BECAUSE YOU HAVE A TOWER AND THATS A 2 PERSON JOB, SAID THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ASKED THIS WHEN I CALLED. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS NOT HAPPY. AND I EXPRESSED THAT TO SEVERAL NEXTLINK INDIVIDUALS WHEN I CALLED. FINALLY GOT A CALL BACK THAT THEY WOULD BE BACK OUT TODAY. WELL THEY CAME BACK OUT AND FOUND OUT THAT MY TOWER IS NOT UPGRADED, THEY DID TRY TO GET ME ON ANOTHER TOWER BUT WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN 48 MEG DOWN. DECIDED TO WAIT ON MY TOWER BEING UPGRADED. HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE???? EVERY DAMN TOWER AROUND ME SEEMS TO BE UPGRADED EXCEPT MINE! NOT GOING TO WAIT MUCH LONGER BEFORE I MOVE ON TO SOMEONE ELSE! IF YOU BOTHER REPLYING TO THIS REVIEW DONT YOU DARE REPLY YOU CANT FIND AN ACCOUNT FOR ME.

    Was a bit of a fight to get hooked up, but I have had it for a little over a month now and have been happy with the service. Just giving 3 stars because of the hard time to get hooked up.

    Received new invoice from them this week, they have started charging fees that should not be charged for internet service. Started charging 3.12 for regulatory recovery fee which yes most likely is charged for phone service BUT NOT INTERNET. They also started charging state and local tax for internet service. So far have found no where where interent service is charged sales tax in illinois! Nothing but fraudsters for less than amazing internet. Am going to try Whisper!!!!!!
