  Every year Astound tries to increase their monthly charges. This year they tried to increase it by just shy of 40%. When they refused to budge on the new charges, I switched to Verizon and got the same service for almost 50% less than Astound was trying to shake me down for. Stay away from this predatory company.

  Brittany was exceptional. Great experience with internet installation today. She was extremely friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. What really stood out was how helpful she was beyond just the installation—she took the time to offer advice and tips for getting settled in the area, which was really appreciated as someone new here. The whole process was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

  Five days ago, I called down to upgrade my Internet. They tried to make the change but did something that made my Internet go out. Four days ago I spent an hour on the phone trying to troubleshoot with agents. Today I stayed home from work so that I could come by my house. The tech never showed up. I still don’t have Internet

  I had a great experience with Astound. The technician arrived on time and was very professional and installed my internet really fast. Im very pleased with the service. Also I got the mobile service as well and its awesome. Astound works off of the tmobile towers. With that said, Astound also offers the best promotions ever. Check them out immediately and start saving.

  Updated Review: After initially awarding 2 stars based on the below I have updated to 5 stars based on new developments and further exposure: The service call to determine why I couldn’t perform the self install was prompt, half an hour into the 2-hour window (first in the morning) I had selected. Communication was good in advance and the install was quick and professionally done. As expected it was determined that I couldn’t do the install myself as the existing configuration / infrastructure of my house didn’t support it. Once additional cabling was installed and service activated, the speed was as expected and there has been no downtimes during the limited period of service so far. Following up with Astound service also waived the install fee, which was greatly appreciated. ——Original review below—- The good: quick delivery of kit, quick connection to tech support. The frustrating: "one size fits all" instructions for self-install and presumptions that may not support your home; surprise expenses if self-install instructions fail. Inflexible customer service. I ordered the self-install kit, which Astound promised to be an easy way to get up and running, in lieu of accepting the free installation. I'm moderately tech savvy so figured this would eliminate the need for and the time spent waiting around for a technician. Lo and behold the instructions were non-applicable (no pre-existing cable box), and Astound tech support can't connect to the provided modem to activate service via the coaxial cable that does exist for my current service. So I still need a technician, only now instead of getting free installation I'm being charged for a service call and tech support refuses to waive the fee when I'm the one inconvenienced for a defective process. A pretty rotten start to my experience with Astound. The good thing is there's no contract so I might well just cancel and cut my losses. Will update as/if service improves (if technician arrives on time; if service is actually provided).
