  Excellent customer service. The technician took time to understand my issue and quickly and efficiently solve the problem. He remained after to make sure everything continue to work after he implemented the fix.

  The good: quick delivery of kit, quick connection to tech support. The frustrating: "one size fits all" instructions for self-install and presumptions that may not support your home; surprise expenses if self-install instructions fail. Inflexible customer service. I ordered the self-install kit, which Astound promised to be an easy way to get up and running, in lieu of accepting the free installation. I'm moderately tech savvy so figured this would eliminate the need for and the time spent waiting around for a technician. Lo and behold the instructions were non-applicable (no pre-existing cable box), and Astound tech support can't connect to the provided modem to activate service via the coaxial cable that does exist for my current service. So I still need a technician, only now instead of getting free installation I'm being charged for a service call and tech support refuses to waive the fee when I'm the one inconvenienced for a defective process. A pretty rotten start to my experience with Astound. The good thing is there's no contract so I might well just cancel and cut my losses. Will update as/if service improves (if technician arrives on time; if service is actually provided).

  I highly recommend against using Astound for your home internet. They may have the lower initial cost compared to Fios, but that cost will rapidly increase after the initial promo. My initial rate was under $50, but my final bill that I just paid was $140. You can sometimes get them to extend the promo, but be prepared to call, go thru phone mail jail, and threaten to switch ISPs. Avoid.

  This is the WORST internet company that we only use because we are forced to. There are outages every several months that last hours at a time. For someone who works from home, this causes major inconveniences, however, the company never seems concerned about timeliness in bringing the service back. Absolutely unacceptable in this day and age. Avoid at all costs.

  Terrible service! I’ve lived in Europe, Asia and all over the US with a ton of different internet providers and Astound is one of the absolute worst! Security breach, open privacy law violations, truly nobody, absolutely nobody cares about you. The service personal is rude, takes five calls to get out to check my service and then tells me I have to pay more so it gets better. Never true! I wish this company would get sued properly for once. Reason for this might be that Astound is owned by one of the greediest Private Equity Investors. Go with Verizon or Comcast if you can. No matter how bad you think those might be, Astound IS GUARANTEED much worse!!!
