- DCDennis CrimminsFeb 21, 20261.0Was solicited by Cox Store San Marcos to upgrade router with promise of easy instructions to set up. I did not call them, they Called me as I was traveling, told me to stop by when back to pick up router and would not shut off old service until ready. None of that was true. They shut old service off once I pkcked up and there were zero instructions on how to set up new router to all devices as laptops and TV’s etc. The guy who solicited me and promised easy set up to activate when ready, was same guy who handed me Router on Wednesday Feb 18 and said instructions in the box or on the app. No instructions in the box and after calling Cox Tech help, they did not know how to set up modem either!! So after apologizing they sent a technician out who walked in and said: “didn’t they tell you to use the set up number and password printed on the bottom of router?” and when I said no, nor did Cox phone technician tell me that and I literally asked if I should use the set up number I could see on options to connect, the guy looked at me and said: “ you are not alone and I have had to do this 8 times in last few days”. DeAnthony at Cox Store San Marcos should not be dialoguing with any customers and is embarrassing your store. All be advised when choosing to call or walk in. And do not trust a word they say.
