  The crew here really went above and beyond to help me find a new snowboard boot when I needed one last minute. They ended up not having what I needed in stock, but went the extra mile to find another retailer that could meet my needs. Really great service and experience!

  The REI store in Jackson, Wyoming permanently ruined my brand new Faction Agent skis due to basic technician incompetence and then refused to take responsibility. I brought in brand new skis for a routine binding remount. This is a straightforward service, especially for a lightweight ski with a wooden core. Instead of doing the job correctly, REI delayed the work for days, gave vague and misleading explanations, and failed to communicate. When I finally went into the store, I was falsely told there was a manufacturing issue with my skis. That was not true. The skis arrived from the manufacturer with a label physically attached that clearly explained the ski’s wooden core and exactly how the holes should be drilled. The instructions were literally written on the skis. Despite this, the technician drilled the holes incorrectly and destroyed the structural integrity of the skis. REI admitted they could not fix the mistake. I took the skis to an independent ski shop, where I was told plainly that REI had ruined them due to improper drilling and technician error. Because of REI’s negligence, my $850 skis were permanently damaged. I was forced to pay for an expensive temporary repair just to make the skis marginally usable and ultimately had to purchase a new pair entirely out of pocket. When I returned to REI for resolution, they refused to fully compensate me and offered only a partial refund, despite clear evidence that their technician ignored manufacturer instructions and caused the damage. This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic technical competence. As a long time REI member, this was shocking. I will not be returning, and I strongly caution anyone trusting this location with expensive equipment.

  We were very happy with Colby’s help with my ski boot fitting and heat molding. He was very thorough, took all the time I needed to answer and address all my concerns. He took time to explain the whole heat molding process. If we could give him more stars we would.
