I miss the climbing pinnacle of the old store, but the store is better laid out & less claustrophobic. Prices still tend to be higher than I'd expect, but you do get that all important "hands on" experience & staff are VERY helpful & know what they're talking about. Better still REI branded products are mostly cheaper & better than the usual name brands.
- CCCaleb CellJan 14, 20261.0Went in to buy a Benchmade pocket knife, looking to spend $200-400 on one. Had to walk to the front counter to ask for an associate to open the knife case. The girl that came to help proceeded to hand me the knives blade first, I tried to educate her on safe handling practices and how to pass a knife handle first and she responds with "if I cut myself, I cut myself". Terrible attitude and down right un-safe customer service. Thankfully I saved my money and walked out. Will not return.

If you are not going to help me or even ask me if I am doing ok, stop following! I asked her if she could help me with shoes she just pointed at the lady at the shoes dept and told me she cannot assist as she’s with men’s dept. then at least ask me if I need any help when I was looking for men’s clothing. Manager needs to train her customer service skills.
