Please fix the greens.
In two years, the superintendent Tony, and only one employee have brought this course back from disaster, so please help them by replacing divots and fixing ball marks.
I love this 9 hole par 3. Yes, the greens can get rough, and the sand traps are grown over, but if you're a beginner, or you want to practice approach shots, wedges, chipping and putting, Lake Ridge is great. I have a Prince Wm. Modern Membership so a round costs $5.
The practice nets are perfect for impact training, or to work on your swing with a camera without being distracted by the ball flight, or to just warm up.
I came over to use the "driving range" which is basically a net 20-30ft from the pad. Pretty good if you just want to warm up but don't expect to gage distance or slice. At $2 a bucket of about 15 balls (credit card only), its a nice way to burn some excess time and lossen up.
This golf course has the potential to be something great however unfortune the Putting greens and the Tee greens are in very bad shape throughout the course. I would have made 3 birdies in a row if it weren't for the condition that these putting greens are in. I play very good golf so this matters to me. There was a lady who wrote a good review about her experience but was very upset about the customer service provided by a lady named Robin. I agree with the lady. This lady Robin is very very rude and short and has zero and no concept of proving a good quality customer service encounter. Just horrible. She needs to be replace and I am going to go out of my way to make sure this happen, Otherwise the rest of the staff are good people. The general public has been worn and if you don't believe me go see the course for yourself. I'm not lying about anything here and I'm going to let friends know so that they too can write a review based on their own opinion. I think this explains why this lady works here. She's not capable of handling the general public. I can guarantee you that she's going to try to fake being nice after reading this review. No matter what I'm reaching out to the manager and his name is Bobby Kidder. He is in charge of making sure all condition are good but he hasn't stepped up to the plate. Basically you have a mowing crew, a grounds keeper crew and a superintendent. The mowing crew does simply that mow and nothing else, The grounds keeper crew are in charge of planting, seeding, fertilizing, spraying and maintaining the overall growth of the putting greens, tee greens and fairways. The superintendent is the one in charge of overseeing all of this. And the manager, Bobby Kidder is the one that's supposed to make all of this happen and he has failed to do so. This could be the absolute best course in town but it's not due to poor management and everyone needs to hear this. Just saying.
Update, after covid I finally made it back to the area and got to play. Nice little par 3 course, if I live close I would play here on a regular basis. $15 for 9, if you live in Woodbridge get the monthly membership.
I got here late so was unable to hit the course. I did get to hit a couple buckets of balls at closing. Nice stuff. I. Looking forward to being in the area again try the links
