I left my bike here for three weeks, and it never even received an attempt at repair. I understand my bike is uncommon, but I clearly explained the issue when I dropped it off. When I finally followed up, the manager repeated the exact problem I initially described as if it were a new discovery. They were polite, but the lack of communication and care was really disappointing. I wish they had been upfront from the beginning about the difficulty they’d have with the repair instead of leaving me waiting. Really it wasn’t that they couldn’t fix it that irked me it was the clear lack of care.

Mason put our bike up on the rack as soon as we walked in the door. I understand this may not be everyone's experience every time, but it was much appreciated! The service was done with expertise as we looked around the store. Mason was exceptionally friendly and competent. I will be happily returning to Trek Blacksburg!

Took my bike in for service and the service tech was very knowledgeable. The service tech looked over the bike with me and explained what needed to be fixed. The tech had my bike ready in couple hours. Very good service and will definitely be back!

Would be five stars if not for one employee. They have the basics you could need in a bike shop and a welcoming atmosphere. At least one (likely more) mechanic is top notch. If you get him, you are in good hands. Then there is one in particular who is incompetent and tries to sell you on more service than you need.
1. I brought in a bike with the di2 cable lost inside. I knew this would be an annoying job. They told me it'll be done by the end of the next day. After almost a week I called, and was told: a) to get the cable they need to remove my bottom bracket, which destroys it, b) a new bottom bracket was ordered (curious how they found a ceramic one of the right size as its now dated), c) the estimated cost is now almost double what I was told (now close to $200), and d) he started to go off about power meter this or that at which point I stopped him, told him to not touch my bike and Im coming ASAP to pick it up. Note, this was ONLY communicated because I called in. They used the "we are busy" excuse. They weren't busy last week and if you were able to pick up the phone you can call me. Had I not, I would have gotten a surprise bill and a new bottom bracket I didn't want (usually they call to ask for specific part..). I picked up the bike and he arrogantly told me it's ordered so when I change my mind they can fix it. No thank you. Took my bike to a shop in Roanoke where removing bottom brackets isn't destructive. The issue was resolved, they (shop in Roanoke) checked over my bike and made minor adjustments to ensure the best ride, and gave me a health update on my bottom bracket (all for significantly less than what Trek told me it would cost). This was the final straw, but below are other interactions with Trek.
2. Previously I brought in tubulars to be reglued. The same person told me it'll be done today or tomorrow and I can come pick them up. I almost walked out with my wheels then, but I knew he wasn't going to do it so I was reassuring myself all would be okay. Sure enough, moments later I got a call from the mechanic telling me the accurate timeline and explaining the process. I was reassured. When one tire needed to be replaced (the job was in the queue), that mechanic called me, told me the issue, and suggested they order the same as my other, giving me price info and allowing me to ask questions - THAT is how it should be done). Five stars for all interactions and work with the mechanic who touched my wheels.
3. First time in the shop, I needed brake cables replaced and without looking, was told I also need my chain replaced because they go together (um...). I said no thanks, I check for stretch and replace chains as needed. The job was done well so again 5 stars.
They have some excellent mechanics who are also super friendly, and if you get them, you are in good hands. But Im not risking my bike getting assigned to one who doesn't know what he is doing, be it communicating with the customer or the job itself. Ill be driving to Roanoke for all my bike needs from hereonout.
