I started working with Langston Banks at GolfTEC last July as a 12 handicap who had spent years accumulating bad habits and Band-Aid fixes that were holding my game back.
I knew something had to change, but I didn't fully appreciate how much of a rebuild was ahead of me until we got into it. Now, roughly seven months later, my handicap is in the mid single digits and I'm striking the ball more consistently than at any point in my life.
One of the most underrated benefits of this process has been actually learning how to swing a golf club — the real mechanics behind it. Before lessons with Langston, my swing was a collection of feel-based guesses and range-session theories that I'd cobbled together over the years. Now I understand what the club needs to do, what my body needs to do to make that happen, and why. That knowledge takes the guesswork out of every swing. When something goes wrong on the course, I can diagnose it and fix it rather than just hoping the next one feels better. That's a completely different relationship with the game.
The feature that has separated GolfTEC from any other instruction I've had is the swing recording system. Every single swing — in lessons and practice sessions alike — is recorded and instantly available for playback. That sounds simple, but it is an absolute game changer for how quickly you can actually improve.
I do three 30-minute practice sessions per week in addition to my weekly lesson, and being able to pull up my swing on the screen mid-session and compare it against my reference positions means I'm never just grooving bad habits in the dark. You can see exactly what you're doing, make an adjustment, and immediately see whether it worked. The feedback loop is tight in a way that normal range sessions simply can't replicate. It also reinforces the mechanics Langston teaches — seeing your swing on video makes abstract concepts suddenly very concrete.
Langston is an exceptional instructor. He identified the root causes of my swing problems — not just the symptoms — and built a progression that addressed them systematically rather than chasing quick fixes. But beware -- when you're rebuilding movement patterns ingrained over years, there's a frustrating adjustment period where your scores and contact can actually get worse before the new patterns take hold. I went through that stretch. It tested my patience. But Langston kept me focused on the right metrics and the trajectory became clear once the pieces started clicking.
If you're a serious golfer who has plateaued or knows your swing has real flaws that need to be addressed at the root, stop tinkering on your own and get in with Langston.

I started taking Golftec lessons a few years ago because I wanted to become more consistent. On any given day, I could shoot anywhere from the high 70s to the 90s. After doing some research, I felt that Golftec suited me best due to the playback videos they provide from both the front and back. I’m more of a visual learner, so being able to see my “feels” versus what’s actually real in my swing was definitely eye-opening when I first started.
I was coached by Langston, and overall he has helped transform my game and my course management mentality. I now consistently shoot in the high 70s to low 80s and don’t get close to the 90s anymore. I have much more confidence in my swing and feel like I can start averaging closer to par with more time and practice.
Langston is very knowledgeable about how the golf swing works and makes adjustments that best fit my swing. He explains concepts clearly, outlining what he is trying to adjust first. After making small changes and following the process, you begin to notice significant improvements (There’s no such thing as a quick fix if you truly want to improve your overall game).
He is also very patient and understanding. He takes the time to listen, and if I don’t fully understand something or want to bounce ideas off him, he is always willing to talk it through. He clearly explains why something works and how doing “this” will lead to “that” result.
Highly recommend.

John Jasper is the best coach I have ever had.
I am in my sixth year with GolfTec. I have learned a lot about golf and I am now a scratch golfer. I have played golf for over fifty years. I am playing at a level I thought I could never achieve. I also believe I will improve further.
Thank you John Jasper and thank you GolfTec.

John Jaspar was an excellent instructor. Patient and knowledgeable he was virtual encyclopedia of golf technique and dynamics. I had a great experience with him and feel that he rebuilt my swing and changed my game dramatically for the better.

Scheduled a swing evaluation three weeks out. Had lesson cancelled (via email) 45 minutes before my lesson. No phone call or other form of follow up. Looks like others have had similar problems based on the below reviews; would be careful before spending $95 here or planning your weekend schedule on an appointment that may/may not happen.
