  Scheduled a work shop class and had an emergency come up, I guess there are zero exceptions to missing the class and even though I called in and spoke with an associate who said they would help me figure it out I have now been told you have to cancel within 7 days. So I will not get a refund which is fine, but I would think maybe at least they would offer to wax my skies. But allas they will not, instead they will just keep my 35 dollars and in return help me in absolutely no way at all. Especially upsetting considering the previous employee I spoke to said they could help me. Very disappointing from REI I will probably be going to back country or some other outdoor outlet from now on. Cant believe you let your customers down REI. Very very disappointing. Emergencies happen. I guess the people of REI are too good to have emergencies. Ridiculous. Keep my 35$, billion dollar corporation getting all they can get from the people who support them, whats new. 0/10 stars probably never coming here again

  I had to exchange a pair of dog socks that were too small. Two new pairs of the right size. The guy working in the back at the customer service desk was super helpful. I'm not a member and didn't have my receipt, but he was able to look up the purchase by scanning my credit card chip and he exchanged the small socks for a pair that fit. He also honored the original price when I got the first pair on the new pair of socks as well as the price had gone up. I was very satisfied and told someone close to me that it was the best customer service I've had in a long time other than Costco.

  I really appreciate the extended holiday hours here—they saved my bacon! The night before returning to Montana I found that there was a broken part on our roof cargo box. I called the store and got expert help from Will both over the phone and in person. People like Will are what really sets too-notch establishments apart and I’m super grateful that he was at this REI location in my (literal) hour of need

  After so many years shopping at my favorite store in the planet I have to say good bye REI Salt Lake City! I had the worst customer service experience of my life tonight! Just like she said looking at my face like a tiger “ there is only one Maria at this store and I am the Manager” too bad you DO NOT CARE as you showed tonight or have any customer service skills ! I hope your boss or manager will offer a customer service training course or coaching! You have not idea how I felt when I left the store ! I wish you could have think of few different ways to handle a simple situation, I hope you care enough to think about it or get help because there is so many other ways as a “Manager” to handle a simple situation then the way you did it or if you are not feeling it just ask another manager to handle it. So many ways! Maria I hope and wish you the best or hope you were just having a bad day, and I am pretty sure you will learn from this, I’m not upset, I am just sad that I will never come back to REI again just like that, I have been shopping there probably longer then you have been working there, you don’t understand, you will never will how sad I am not to come back! I am so sad not to come back that I may even change my mind and come back because I shouldn’t just not come back for someone that gave me a poor customer service experience, I am not sure, but I may come back because REI is more the what I experienced tonight. I don’t know! I also know they are really good with their employees and with the community so I think they will probably offer coaching or a course you can attend, I am 100% that you are an amazing person and have many great skills and they will support you.
