- BSBob SlovenskyJul 11, 20263.0Good for standard fittings; see a specialist for custom builds As a 6'7" golfer with a 42.5" wrist-to-floor measurement, I need highly customized equipment. My $95 fitting at Golftec was a fine experience, the simulator technology is cool and the fitter, Hunter, was helpful but the company's capabilities are limited to standard, factory-ordered builds. They recommended a 2-inch extension (which I suspect is most manufacturer's standard limit), but even that was too short for me. Golftec does not do in-house gripping, extensions, reshafting, bending, or advanced building. After a failed attempt at Golf Galaxy to get the 2 inch extensions recommended by Golftec (they declined, stating the clubs required a full reshafting that they couldn't perform), I found Bob Burns Golf. Bob and his son Robby are true specialists and expert craftsman. Bob is a PGA Master Professional instructor and club builder. They had many measurement tools and ultra-long clubs on the shelf to test immediately. Bob spent several hours with me in his hitting studio to make sure we got everything right. Robby took my club heads and built a custom set extended by 4 inches with KBS Tour 120 shafts, custom loft/lie adjustments, and new matching Golfpride grips. They are a work of art that were completed in under a week. Takeaway: Golftec is an okay, tech-driven option if you fit into standard or mainstream adjustment categories or want to buy new clubs from a specific manufacturer. However, if you require or desire custom specifications or true club-building craftsmanship, save your time and go to Bob Burns.

Why do I need a Swing Evaluation
The Swing Evaluation gives both Coach and student a clear visual and numerical baseline for both indicating where improvement is necessary and measuring the improvement. We highly recommend the Swing Evaluation for every student, from beginner to competitive player. It allows us to understand your current swing and goals and helps determine the right lesson plan for you.
Are your lessons expensive?
Prices vary by the lesson plan, features included, and region, but they are highly competitive with teaching professionals in each area. However, each GOLFTEC Student will start with a Swing Evaluation which is $150.
Do you teach beginners?
We love teaching golfers who are just picking up the sport! Our coaches understand the unique needs of beginners and know how to make their sessions comfortable and enjoyable.
Can I take lessons at any location?
Absolutely! Your Coach will be able to help you find another Center and Coach. You can also use any GOLFTEC location when you are traveling.
Can I take lessons outdoors?
On-course instruction on specific shots and course management are a great complement to in-bay swing lessons and are offered at most locations.
Will you change my swing?
Changes to your swing may be necessary given your specific golfing problems and goals. We begin with your current swing and work on adjustments to make it more effective and productive.
Does GOLFTEC sell clubs?
Yes. We will order clubs based on your TECFIT club fitting or your specifications if you choose not to have a fitting. With our large buying power and relationships with leading manufacturers, we can sell custom clubs for the same price that you would pay for off-the-rack clubs at many retailers.
