  As a Korean parent raising a child in the United States, there are many reasons why I chose to have my child learn Taekwondo. There are countless options and Taekwondo schools, but this is truly one of a kind. Among all the dojangs I have experienced—not only in the U.S. but also in Korea—this is the place that has done the best job of teaching children what the “Do” in Taekwondo really means. They teach these values in a way that is meaningful, yet always fun and engaging for the kids. What especially stands out to me are the instructors and of course, Grand Master Henkel. Among all the teachers I have entrusted my child to over the years, the instructors here are some of the very few whom I genuinely respect and admire as true teachers. My child can be fearful and is a perfectionist, and this is a place where the instructors have patiently taught and encouraged her to understand that failure is not truly failure, and that there is something incredibly meaningful about staying committed and consistent over the past 3 years. They don’t just teach Taekwondo—they teach children important lessons about perseverance, confidence, discipline, and life. I am truly grateful that my child has the opportunity to learn and grow here. I cannot recommend enough how thankful and grateful we are for this amazing community.

  Success Martial Arts does an outstanding job teaching discipline, confidence, and life skills alongside martial arts training. The instructors are supportive, encouraging, and focused on helping students of all ages grow both physically and mentally in a positive environment.

  After a few years of training at Kim’s TkD I have been witness to many different situations where the instructors are strict yet compassionate, guiding yet supportive to all the students. Specifically with younger kids and teens I have seen kind hearts and strong determination that has helped my son to learn courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and to have an indomitable spirit. The master Henkel has been key in supporting my son to have a male figure that is great influence to my son. I highly recommend this school, more than an extra curriculum class it has been the village helping to building up my son.
